I just got a call that students are demonstrating and rioting in UNN, pls anybody in Enugu or Nsukka to confirm that and give us updates and pictures of what's happening there.

If truely the school authorities did increase the tuition fees, then the report/story abt the students demostrations is correct... I haven't heard of a schl (state nd fed.) that students haven't demostrated because of increment in tuition fee.

There is absolutely no riot going on in UNN. although the fees have been increased, it was done while the students were away on vacation. the school is just officially resuming today so there is nothing going on.

There is no riot going on for now though the fees has been increased. That bartho okolo of VC needs to be questiond. Why shld he tell us to pay 12k for jst internet and 5k for one usless devpt and still on that increased skul fees also? Did i tell him that my fone is not browsing? Reports indicate dat d riot is goin on at the enugu campus of the school (UNEC) and not the nsukka campus. We at the nsukka campus sure have learnt from the last riot over the same issue

Lmao. Well @ d enugu campus, derz a peaceful demonstration ongoing.students have however been prevented from going out by the army and security operatives who locked the school gate. Der z however no demonstrattion whatsoever @ d nsukka campus. The demonstration is connected to an increase in school fees of about 20k.

Please these students need solidarity. The increment is uncalled for as it is exorbitant and outrageous.
The stakeholders should meddle in this.
And why should somebody make internet compulsory when ninety percent of the students don't own laptops? This is coupled with the fact that the said wireless internet service is abysmal and goes at a snail pace.
This will further exacerbate the already pitiable situation of many parents who toil, starve and delay gratifications just to enable them raise these fees. It shouldn't be forgotten that most of them have two to four kids in school. It is doleful.
