Some nigerians have nothing inside their head but sawdust. What do you expect JTF to do when this jackasses fires at them? To move closer to them in a bid to catch them alive? Get real bro, these JTF are humans with families. Based on your suggestion the soldiers should be getting killed to catch armed criminals alive? In the US and other developed climes, any armed criminal who refuse to surrender and shoot at the cops will be gunned down. If military job is that easy maybe you should consider joining them.

Thank you for your wise comment, it is on the nairaland forum we are seeing the Americans that were mistakenly born in Nigeria, to them we should turn to Oyibos over night. We must copy everything the western people do whether it favors us or not. To them now our JTF should surrender to the armed bandits, so that they would be commended, sometime I suspect these commentators in this nairaland forum.Honestly.

These unfortunate Europeans will be the same people to blame the JTF later, if they allowed these hoodlums to escape. You will hear grammars which the British and English people will find difficult to understand.Soon you will hear them campaigning for the hoodlums to parade the JTF as the criminals. why are Nigerians more Catholic than the pope?

Whatever we learn, we over do it more than our teachers. If they have ever seen, abducted, or witnessed the criminals in action, I know that they will be singing a different songs. Nigeria and Nigerians are very confused, that is what I observe. Veteran soldier is the one that fought and return from the battle front. Our human right campaigners, when you catch any criminal who was about, or had already attacked you guys, just kiss them, cares them, entertain them, feed them very well and escort them to their cars and wave them bye bye.

You can even exchange phone numbers or email ids to become friends. Criminals are the ones who open fire first at our security personnel, these they do for an access to escape. If you are not well trained and lucky their bullets will kill the security officers then you expect the security officers to fold their arms and wait till they are captured by the criminals, you will be the first person to criticize them for being incompetent and weak. Oh Niaja.

pythonwizpro: The Joint Task Force have killed 13 members of a gang suspected of abducting a Turkish man in an early morning raid on their hideout in oil-producing Rivers state, police said on Saturday.

A 20 million naira ($127,600) ransom was paid for the release of Bayram Karakus, who worked for the Rivigo Construction company, Rivers police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam told a news agency.

He gave no details of what happened to the Turkish man.

“A combined team of operatives … stormed the militant camp of a notorious gang also responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, killing of policemen and civilians in the recent past,” Ugwuegbulam said.

“In the ensuing gun battle six of the hoodlums were fatally wounded … seven of the wounded died on the way to hospital.”

Ugwuegbulam said the police recovered N98,900, the bags used to deliver the ransom, six AK 47 rifles and ammunition in the raid on Friday.

The raid was said to be carried out around 2:50 AM in Kaani community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Thank you jare. In US, merely clenching your fists and moving towards a law enforcement officer will get you gunned down instantly because you are a threat to his safety.

nex: Please, both in the North and the South, JTF should never be commended for killing suspects. Anybody who has not been sentenced by a court of the land is still a suspect. Why must they kill all the time in their so-called gun battles? Na only for Nigeria gun battle dey happen?

A lot of innocent people are being killed. Even the Rivers State Police spokesman said "six of the hoodlums were fatally wounded … seven of the wounded died on the way to hospital". How can 7 people die out of six wounded?! This is to tell you that Nigerians are being so recklessly killed, that nobody even takes time to account for lives properly.

This savage behaviour is no different from the Aluu 4 killings, only, this time, by the government itself.
JTF recovers six AK47. So you wanted the JTF group to be killed before knowing what to do. JTF are doing a good job.

dadicvila: atyms lets get real, when security agents risk their lives to confront all these monsters that have vowed nöt to let us sleep at night, they should be commended and praised, armed robbery and kidnapping everywhere, people are getting killed every minute, should security agents fold their arms and watch??the way people support criminals on nairaland is alarming,am beginning to suspect that there are lots of them here....i say kill them all,if they kant get a job and choose to rob and kidnap innocent Nigerians, track them down to their hideouts and spray them hot lead, our prisons are filled up already...no time

Thank you, indeed there are many robbers on nairaland. So someone shooting at JTF is expected to be arrested with bare hands before JTF can be applauded? One other mor.on even said 14 nigerians should not be killed to free a turk? What a pity! So a nigerian that kills, maim and rape is better than a turk? Am ashamed of this creature been a nigerian

The literacy level in this country is appalling. The report said that 6 were fatally wounded. That, in simple English, means that 6 died at the spot. Fatal wound means death. Fatality means death. So when he said that 6 were fatally wounded, he meant that they died during the shootout. The other 7 did not die on the spot, but died on the way to the hospital. So let me summarize, the shootout resulted in 6 fatalities at the spot while 7 of the hoodlums that were seriously wounded later died on the way to the hospital. Kapish?
