Nice to hear. When we already know the senator behind BH what do we need counter terrorist squads for? They would be deceiving themselves.

if history is any guide, the only thing we can count on these counter terrorists to do is swagger around in their 'elite' status while beating up on civilians who don't get out of their way fast enough

We already have Nigerian Army, Navy and maybe Air force special operations. Where do these guys fall? Why don't we just concentarte on improving the current units. Kuds to the military for the impressive strides made in developing special operations capabilies.

50calibre: Hahahaha! This is just too funny, counter-terrorist team in Nigeria? How will they gather intelligence? Do they have any gadgets? How will they power their operations without electricity? Where are CCTVs and other monitoring devices? Nigeria is just to undeveloped to have a real counter-terrorism team and anybody who know what it takes to run a counter-terrorism operation knows how funny this sounds.

Re: Nigeria Gets Counter-terrorism Special Force by zikclassiq(m): 8:00am On Dec 15, 2012
They should call special agent JACK BUER for debriefing and Agent Otiz to head the Field Ops. Chloe should be incharge of setting up Comm Sat for the team.

And what's the AK-47? A bee-bee gun? I suggest you read up on the AK-47. Sure, it's not as sexy as the M-4, Tavor TAR-21, H&K G-33, etc. But that rifle is the most reliable assault rifle in the WORLD. with its 7.62mm bullet, it packs quite a punch compared to the NATO 5.56mm used by the M-4 or other western rifles. Accuracy may be average compared to the M-16 or M-4, but I'll rather have an AK-47 in the trenches than an M-4 or M-16 rifles that jam easily, or even the British SA-80 rifle that was so bad, Heckler & Koch were contracted to redesign it.

There's a reason the Isrealis, Colombians, South Africans, and Finnish copied the AK-47 for the Galil, Galil ACE, R4, and Valmet respectively.
