Just as Jesus did before he started his ministry. The bible made us to understand that he went into the wilderness to pray for 40 days and nights and when he had finished praying and fasting, the devil came tempting him. He was able to overcome, because he (is) knows the word of God. (Matthew 4:1-11)

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
