This sunday is Epiphany (presentation of our Lord to the temple) and not advent. Advent is before christmas. So eastern/orthordox catholics celebrate their xmas today.

praise and worship sunday in my parish .

For me, it means nothing. Why must i wait till 1st sunday of the year to thank and Show my gratitude to God. It shd be a day to day thing. i thank God evrytime and evryday, monday, friday, morning, night, May, November, anytime. Thats my opinion anyway.

The Pope has denied the claim that Christ was born on xmas. So how did you know He was presented to the temple today? Doctrine of men.
