@op
Where specialist hospital and what's the name of the second 1? I have forgotten.

Be careful, you know security issues they have with this part of the country, if they see someone snapping anyhow, they might get spoked and cause you trouble.

Gombe o ni baje...impressive though! At least, one Northern state dey rep.

May I suggest to the MODS (OAM4J and AFAM) to create monthly state platforms, where a minimum of three states, will be analysed and discussed per month. A particular state, say Benue, can be discussed and dissected this week, and then perhaps, Niger next week and so on. Nairalanders would be made to judge the STATE of THE MONTH based on the progresses made on the level of development and modernization attained by the state governments. I suggest this can be attained by asking for volunteers from each state of the federation, to present pictures and if possible, data from the state budget e.t.c.

Thanks

Well i may be wrong though but i think from what i saw, most of the pictures above are from one particular estate cos 90% of the pictures are not even of the main road, more like street views which you can easily see anywhere in the country. Then again, i could be wrong.

To be frank Gombe and Jigawa are the best in the north if not in Nigeria taking cognisance of the little allocation they get compared to others

Good work so far. However, most of the roads lack an edge barrier. This means drivers are not protected from the gutters especially at intersections.
Nigerian projects hardly show complete regard for safety.

I was posted to Gombe for Youth corp service in 1997,in a remote area,what amaze me most in Gombe State then was the Quality of the Road construction ,absolutely brilliant,well I realise PTF funded d project!i can't thing of any road in Lagos that can match the standard of quality of road networking,despite the fact that the whole state is sparsely populated,a local govt might comprises of 10 houses,vehicles takes about 1:30hr to pass by,misplaced priorities on the hand of Fedral govt.

you all must know that it is much easier to construct roads in the north due to their relatively flat and dry terrain unlike south which is rugged and wet

I served in Gombe in 2011/2012. First, when I was posted there,I needed the help of map to know the state was in the north eastern part of Nigeria smiley

I had a great service year,the town is beautiful, the people are nice and the tangale girls are sweet grin. It called the 'jewel in the savannah' but i call it my 2nd home town. I love visiting the town and I still do.

Gov. Danjuma goje transformed the state,and Gov. Dankwabo (tolban) is trying to build on his legacies. This is one state i know PDP is working. I'm looking forward to my next visit there.

Nice effort by op usm tho I saw a lot of repeated pictures. The North has the best road network in Nigeria. Don't mind living there if not for the arid weather and unrest.

I was in Gombe during Goje's regime. Long before BH
Empty town! Very very empty! Travelling from Borno to Gombe raises serious questions on the real population of the North. The state capitals look empty and the countryside is deserted. I don't know where they get the high populations they post as census figures. The only densely populated town in the North is Kano.

These pix are nice but I doubt if they are representative. This must just be the capital
