How My Twin Sister Wrecked My Marriage... by marvelck: 9:03am On Jan 30, 2013
Got this from someone (a lady) and decided to share the story on Nairaland. Hope we will be able to learn a thing or two from her story/experience...

Apart from being very close,my twin sister and I do share a lot in common. Went to the same school but were in different depts. Both of us and our two younger brothers had passion for acting and the movie industry in general. But cos of my husband, I later dropped my interest soon after I got married. Cos due to some personal reasons of his, and out of my love and respect for him, he made me promise not to have anything to do with acting. But on this day, I reluctantly went with my sister to a movie set for casting without the consent or knowledge of my husband, only for him to know about it that same day and sent me packing afterwards. Having given him my word not to have anything to do with acting or the entertainment industry.
But it was my sister that caused the whole thing. if I had known, I won't have gone with her. I was only happy to see her making some progress in the industry and wanted to share in her joy and also have a first hand experience of how things are done on a movie set. When I came back that evening, my husband didn't say anything to me until very early the following morning when he woke me up and shockingly asked for a divorce. At first, I was shocked, speechless and motionless when he said it, but later made an attempt to explain everything by lying to him about my whereabout the previous day. but was cut short when he told me he actually came to the movie set after trying to get me on phone unsuccessfully, when he come back from work and didn't see me. He was able to locate us via one of his friends, and left quietly after seeing my sister and I being casted for a role. All my efforts to make him have a change of heart were futile until he evetually took me back to my parents' house, knowing fully well I was already three month pregnant for him.
Now, we are divorced, my parents are not happy with me nor with the situation, my sister and I are sober, I'm lonely, and full of regrets. and also saddled with a five months old baby to cater for, while my ex husband is about to get married to another girl. See what my sister has caused. See my life.

@ the lady who's divorced, I totally understand how you feel, you are hurt I know but pls stop blaming your sister, is not her fault. Your hubby is simply tired of the marriage and has been looking for an excuse. U weren't acting now, just wanted to rejoice with Your sis and I don't see anything wrong with that. Yes, u promised never to have anything to do with acting but that doesn't mean u won't rejoice with your twin sister. It is so unfair to blame the poor girl for your divorce, please don't make her feel bad for the rest for her life.

please stop blaming your sister. afterall she is not the one who informed your husband that you were at a movie set or even tied a rope round your neck and dragged you to the place.

like the above poster said, your husband is tired of the marraige and was only waiting for you to make a mistake.

just carry on with your life. if you have a job lucky you but if you dont have, start searching for one or see how you can start a business.

please love your child and dont see himm/her as a burden. see the child as a blessing. forget about the man.

wishing you the best.

PS: the message is for thelady not the OP.

How in God's name did you end up with such a man?

A man who can support his wife on her first love (acting).

He's not worth your tears, and pls stop blaming your sister cuz there's nothing wrong in you escorting your sister to work

The reason for the divorce does not make sense....it's quit clear that the husband was tired of the marriage already. The twin sister did nothing wrong...the man was simply looking for an excuse to divorce the wife...no man can act so foolishly if he truly luvs a woman. He was bored of d marriage and wanted d perfect excuse to divorcd d woman. D twin sister did nt ruin d marriage, d husband did.

Wtf are we talking about here? You went to a movie set with your two legs, lied to your husband with your mouth and then turn around to blame your sister? This is classic.

Btw, your husband is a person.

It is not her sister's fault.
Why would you marry someone who does not agree with your passion?
These are discussions that would have happened waaa before ring tinz. Abi couple don't ask these questions anymore?

Your passion will eventually come out, except she's one of these girls that FORM just because they want to marry the guy only to start revealing contending matters later after wedding don lock.

Don't blame your sister. That reason OS not enough for your husband to want a divorce. I suspect your husbnd was looking foe an excuse to get rid of you. Imagine, sharply the man don dey marry another
