GEJ, IGP and the head of service should be held responsible for not acting promptly. Maina has got some mafia-like backing mostly from the executive arm of government who assisted him in evading arrest and aided his escape!

Why are they harassing this poor man for fck sake? Why waste his time and public resources in harassing him?

No 1, I am sure a lot of the person Nigerians are praying for him because they love to pray for the people destroying their lives.

https://www.nairaland.com/1056780/nairaland-prayer-network-patience-jonathan

No 2, if he is caught and prosecuted, the worst that would happen is he would get a N1m fine placed on him by a Nigerian court and told to go home. Chicken change he made in half a day from interests he got from his loot.

Leave him alone. The person nation and the majority fucktards in it deserve such leaders.

Hardeywerlay: speechless

Same here. Nigeria is now a total joke where nothing works and open criminality wins time and time again. The man in the middle of the biggest current scandal affecting the worldwide perception of our legislative and executive arm manages to escape to Singapore rather easily. Simply incredible. I just hope this turns out to be false news.

Nigerians enn, comedians everywhere grin

Until they pass in law the killings of our public office holders should they be found guilty of theft / looting.

Other than this, I'm afraid this kind of behavior will linger on till Jesus comes.

Oh my God!
Naija movie dey very interesting. Since all this while the senate has taken the responsibility to track down the fraudulence act of Mr Maina. The senate even one time said they leave the fraudster to God to deal with him. When they realised that things are no more easy with the pensioners, the senate decided to shift the responsibility to the President to hand over Mr Maina to them.
The president kept mute for a while later ordered head of service to punish Maina just for going AWOL instead of the fraudulence allegation.
The latest news: Mr Maina has absconded.
Could all these episodes of the fraud allegation and the trial be called a 'delay tactics' to aid Mr Maina perfect the work he started and abscond?

The national assembly members and Govs are worse theives. Not interested in one particular person, but they all should be prosecuted. They should not
make GEJ look clueless and culpable in this matter at all

My God, where have you ever heard a whole pension fund being deposited in personal account? Where was the board of trustees? Why was the money accessable to this guy? Why was is it not with investment house low risk?
Africa needs to learn running a country needs admin systems, process and checks and balances to be implemented then adhered to.

Now the goverment is suppose to creat policy and processes to make sure this does not happen in all other departments, unless they also are awaiting their turn to eat. undecided

What can the Senate do?
Arrest him? Isn't that the job of the police and the executive?
The same Maina that came to the Senate hearing with SSS bodyguards even after the Senate passed a resolution to the IGP to effect his arrest?
Doesn't that tell you he has senior officials who've got his back and oversee his corrupt moves?
which take dat has rightly said too

take dat: GEJ, IGP and the head of service should be held responsible for not acting promptly. Maina has got some mafia-like backing mostly from the executive arm of government who assisted him in evading arrest and aided his escape!

Yet I wonder how he escaped seeing Interpol was said to have issued warrants concerning him to stop this kind on scenario

Shey no be airport him follow run? Abi na juju him use dissappear from naija and appeared in singapore?. Oya FG should contact singapore government to arrest and send him back to naija in cuffs but I doubt if they would do it. The reason the senate is so much interested in this man might be because he didn't settle them well well.

The people that responsible for the escape of this man is as follows.

1. Police

2. Immigration

3. EFCC

I might not really blame GEJ because he is not a security guard at the airports neither is he a policeman or efcc agents that failed in their duty to arrest this man before he runs away. They should be given 100 strokes of koboko each

Are you for real? What is Maina hiding from? Do you see this sort of thing happening anywhere else in the world? Is it not obvious that powerful elements in the Government had a hand in this perhaps to include a Presidency that initially claimed it was powerless to sanction Maina? Is this how Nigeria has warped our mentality to the extent many Nigerians have totally lost all sense of shame and perspective?

How is it possible for Maina to "evade" arrest, openly travel around in a convoy consisting of personnel attached to our national security forces and now ridiculously fly to Singapore? Is anyone dumb enough to think all that was achieved without collusion from the highest offices in the land? I am simply ashamed of Nigeria and Nigerians to include leaders and followers.
