The McLaren MP4-21 that was designed by Adrian Newey for Kimi was slightly altered for the McLaren MP4-22 that was driven by Lewis Hamilton in 2007, the 2008 McLaren MP4-23 still had features of the McLaren MP4-21 but due to the allegation of the Ferrari details been found with McLaren employees they had to design a new car but still using the old chassis. McLaren wasnt the fastest car in 2008 McLaren had 3 fastest laps in 18 races compared to Ferrari's 13 and BMW's 2, in 2007 Ferrari had 11 to McLaren's 6
This is an Old Wives Tale. That was not Newey's car and in the record books zero credit goes to Newey that is all the knowledge I need

Fastest lap is not the most credible judge of the speed of a car. Esteban Gutierrez and Sergio Perez have set fastest laps without necessarily owning the fastest car.
A more feasible metric is number of pole positions the stats might show 9-8 in Ferrari's favor but you have to account for the fact that it was Hamilton's rookie year and Alonso is well known for his poor qualifier status. Even at that but for their catfighting one of them woulda won that title easily

In 2008 Hamilton's running mate was Kovalainen nuff said! Despite how badly he sucked he was still good enough for a win and a pole that tells you that car was as good as if not better than the Raris

They had faster cars, with more powerful engines back then, No KERS, No Traction system, No DRS, No differentials, refuelling and harder tyres, dear devil driving. To win with a Ford Zetec V8 engine when the rest of the field was using either a V10 or V12 Ferrari or Renault engine.

The current car engine is a 2.4 V8, so do you think Vettel could win in a 2.4 V6 engine?

Like I said the 2010 WDC was more like a title Alonso handed over due to the brain fart in the team because Alonso started in 3rd position he only needed 5th position to win the WDC but finished 7th.....
We can also say Bayern handed Chelsea the Champions League but that's not true Vettel still had to go on and win the race. 7th would have been good enough if Vettel did not win the race! It was easier for Alonso to win than lose! All pressure was on Vettel and he delivered masterfully

Really? Webber didn't need to win the race, to win the title he only need 3rd place and be ahead of Alonso, so tell why did they bring him in on lap 11 on a tyre that his rivals took to lap 25 to 30 (Button used his tires to lap 40) common that's been royally screwed!!!
Since he only needed 3rd place whose fault is it that he could only qualify 5th?

This theory doesn't make any sense! Even if he finished 3rd and ahead of Alonso Vettel woulda still been champion since he was only 7 pts behind Webber

Well before Hamilton's tyre blow out an 8 second lead looks like its in the bag

Kovy won a race that Lewis had a puncture and Massa retired, Even Timo Gloak came in 2nd

Fastest lap is not the most credible judge of the speed of a car. Esteban Gutierrez and Sergio Perez have set fastest laps without necessarily owning the fastest car.

We are talking about an era of starting the car with less fuel, Bridgestone tyres, and era where a poor car cannot produce the fastest lap.

Even back then the slower cars produced fastest laps albeit not at the same frequency

2014 should roll on so that Vettel can pick his 5th and we can hear another excuse as to why he is not legit

Vettel on pole! Webber 2nd,Grosjean 3rd,Hulkenberg 4th,Hamilton 5th and Alonso 6th

Expect a lot of people on the even numbered side of the grid to lose a place from the start as they are on the dirty side of the track! Same thing happened last year and we saw Alonso and Ferrari tamper with Massa's gearbox just to get on the clean side

Sergio Perez kicked out of McLaren and Massa to Williams! Interesting stuff

Raikkonen done for the season with a bad back and has since been replaced by Kovalainen

Its an effing joke! Ironically even if this rule had stood since Vettel's dominance began he would have only missed out on the 2012 title. How or of what use is this rule when Seb is winning half the races

McLaren's Jenson Button has chosen to race this season with the number 22 that he used in his 2009 title-winning campaign.

"#Jenson22 Great memories, looking forward to making a few more," he tweeted.

Under new regulations for 2014, Formula One drivers will have permanent numbers to be used throughout their careers and can choose any between two and 99. The number '1' will be reserved for the current champion.
