Wow! Ishilove is such a prolific and surreal writer.
In fact with the way you described Unilag and it environs I just can't help wondering whether this is a true life story, you know, it's so real I could even smell the bread at bakery in new hall I used to love the bread especially after a rainfall .


I also remember someone's story about coming late from an overnight party and not been able to enter unilag at that late hour, she later stays in her "friends" friends house who tries to sleep with her and she spends the night in the toilet drilled with her smelling crap, without water to flush.

After reading this much of this beautiful piece... I can only say, I weep for Chilo, I weep for myself, I weep for every youth out there struggling with addictions, with the fraustration that come with knowing you can be better but the weakness that pervades every fibre of our being exposes our frailities, daily, with every attempt we make at being better. It leaves me with more questions than answers, who can save us from ourselves?

I leave with just one new conviction...

I will learn to judge people less and try to forgive more, and I hope I don't fail myself in that regards as well
