sunboy: Some people and bad bella! I will give to to African Queen!!! For the reasons... You're very wrong. completely got it wrong. It's obvious you initiated bias here The reason is: The Question is simply: Which Song Is More Internationally Acclaimed? And the answer is OLIVER TWIST. Almost the whole world knows and recognize OLIVER TWIST. Where was African Queen when OLIVER TWIST now hitting in Australia, New Zealand, Icelenad and Greenland now? The OP is not asking which song was released 100 years ago. The question is: Which Song Is More Internationally Acclaimed? We all expect simple anwser and we all know the answer is : OLIVER TWIST By ''D'banj a.k.a Eja nla... No Bias, no personal opinion. At least you can read and write, and you go school? Ask yourself this ''What is the meaning of INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED? Does the OP asked that WHICH SONG WAS RELEASED 100 YEARS AGO AND HOW MANY AWARDS HAS THE SONG WON. Gbammmmmmmmmm 2 Likes |

^^^ You right bro. The question was very easy yet some people answered wrongly. I was amazed at the song's spirited flight to strange lands. I did n't like the song at first just like many people, but the song grew. If Dbanj goes to Romania today for show, i can tell you he might be kidnapped there. 1 Like |

2face is the best.. when comparing both artist but international acceptance of both African queen & Oliver Twist, goes to Dbanj. Don't get it twisted : people accepted Mic Jackson not because of his lyrics but bcz of his dance hall tracks. same thing goes to GANG-NAM-STYLE of today Oliver Twist has been on Replay in European, Asian and Australian clubs not because of its lyrics , but bcuz of the classic tune Happy Birthday to both Tracks African Queen = 10 years , seeking secondary school admission Oliver Twist = 9 months, battling breast resistance 1 Like |

Red-Light: mith or what ever your name is, living in Europe doesn't mean you're better than people living in naija. and stop down grading others . lot of people are suffering in Europe . don't get it twisted we all left naija for a better living and not to look down on people back home .... |

Chegunn: All I know is that African queen won Mtv Europe music award, and Oliver twist ...well didn't. If the two artists were to be likened to comedians, Tuface would be Ali Baba and Dbanj would be A. Y. both songs are of international class but African Queen is more 'African' than Oliver Twist and hence, more regarded. |

bankyblue: It is confirmed.. YOU ARE A SHAMELESS F`AGGOT MANWHORE.. Tuface won 'MTV's 'African Artist of the Year' in 2005.. That was for his 2004 Album 'Face 2 face'. Which had African Queen on it. The Song African Queen didnt win him the award on its own. Otherwise, he would have won 'Song of the year'. Oya, go and 'Suck banana, till you go yo'.. person! 2 Likes |

*comes into thread* My children are u people still fighting over this? Ok lemme break it down. Had it been we are talking about the better artiste here, it will be 2Face no doubt cos the guy is very good. But the OP asked a question ''Which of the 2 songs is more Internationally acclaimed?'' And to answer dis question, u dont have to do it with sentiment. And we are not talking abt the better song or the one that has more meaning. Here we are talking abt the one dat is more popular at the International level and it is Oliver Twist. Cos one, it breaks more boundaries by penetrating the U.K, European countries and Asia. It has so many remixes by foreign international acts, dat should tell u the popularity of d song. Some of u dat were saying its African Queen were basing ur answer on Africa alone. Yes, i know dat Phat Girls used it as their soundtrack but Oliver Twist broke more boundaries. D'Banj is now big outside Africa, all thanx to his HIT single Oliver Twist. Ebony magazine featured & intervied him and am surprised to see him profiled on some American Music sites which is a rarity for any African Artiste ever. Oliver Twist is on top charts of different countries in Europe & Asia. Some of u might not understand it till u step out of Africa. African Queen is a hit song dat made its mark on the International scene too but Oliver Twist broke more boundaries. For the records, am not a big fan of D'Banj and i didnt like Oliver Twist at first but it grew on me when i heard it every 5mins on different radio stations. 2 Likes |

cr7lomo.: Brother I love your response Igbo, yoruba or hause has nothing to go with the question ..... lot of people have certificates but cant defend it. its as simple as ,,,, African Queen = Samson Siasia //// Oliver Twist = Mikel Obi .... they are both good .. but can and will never compare past to present ..... African Queen cant and will never be played in any European club, cuz its not a wedding Anniversary but party time ... which makes Oliver twist the 1 .... 1 Like |

U guys shud stop arguing blindly nd like rookies......african queen paved d way 4 oliver twist bak in 2004....even witout much promotion unlike oliver twist,d song stil shut 2 international limelight nd fetchd AWARDS 4 2baba.....if anytin,d 2 songs had d same mentality "d both hv african rhythm nd dats wot matters"....so stop comparing them both,d r nt in d same time....they r time apart |
