Ketu area of Lagos State was thrown into confusion after the shocking discovery of the corpses of two toddlers, Toheeb Adedokun and Tajudeen Falilu, who disappeared in January.
PUNCH Metro had reported exclusively on January 30, 2013, that the missing children were suspected to have been kidnapped when all efforts to locate them proved abortive.
However, the corpses of the children were found in an abandoned vehicle, two houses away from their parents’ home on Taike Street.
Reliable sources told our correspondent that the vehicle was a Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle which the owner had used as collateral and thus abandoned it.
The source said after the children wandered off, they went into the vehicle and were trapped inside, causing them to suffocate.
He said, “We had searched all over for the children to no avail and assumed they were kidnapped. Even the police thought it was kidnap. Only if we had known that the children were trapped in a vehicle in the next compound, we would have saved them.”
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the discovery to our correspondent on the telephone.

Na wa o. If only they had looked well and sent a search party around the area. They were just right there . These deaths could have been avoided.

I also expecetd the SUV to be locked. There is more to the death of the kids if only Nigeria Police will investigate the cause.

So they both climbed a Honda pilot themselves something that's like 2 story building for them, the parent and others searched and searched and no one saw them and most likely a lot of people might have passed beside them..

These little kids opened the car entered and locked themselves. I don't believe this story. Something is amiss.

How long has the car been in that parked position? Has it moved since the kids went missing?

This story na wash. How long does it take for corpses to decompose, abi na skeleton dem see. How come no one perceived d offensive odor till now. Besides i suppose d child disappered in d daytime and knowing d characteristics of children, once they got inconvienced, they wd cry or struggle, how cd they die without cryn? Abeg!

Its possible the car might be one of those with automatic locks....locks up once u slam the door & the poor kids didn't even know where to open the door not to talk of unlock it.

In fact that story I cannot buy. Someone must have killed them and dumped them inside the car. There is no way that they cannot be banging on the glass and crying and nobody cannot hear them.
Now can they climb in and luck an abandoned car? A car packed for a long time, the battery must have been discharged and cannot be functional. Now how come the four doors got lucked? Something is wrong and the neighbors must be arrested to say all they know about this. Too bad.
