We saw what happened in Lagos during the june 12 aftermath when Ndigbo truly went back to their village. Starvation and desperation made kola and family relocate to benin republic. Eko oni baje became a ghost town . 1 Like |

Well that is what we have been saying education is power. Fashola exploited these people because they don't know there right. The councils are supposed provide these people with disposable facilities which they didn't do or alternatively make laws to make sure this part s are recycled or provide recycling parks. These people would have won these case if they had gone to a normal court but it's Nigeria again I doubt if we have normal people as judges in the Nigerian justice system, but they should have gave it a try which they didn't so you are at fault if your councillors are miss using your tax. The question I want to ask is why pay tax and provide basic amenities for your self again something is wrong some where. |

Batam: You have a point there I'm not in Lagos at the moment but now adays most phones comes with cameras. Didn't no why they didn't let the governor know about the roads in the area very soon the councils will start telling you why you didn't repair or tad the road that leads to your house. |

The Igbos in Lagos are not migrant workers rather citizens, great investors and economic builders that deserve no less than respect and cordiality. dayokanu:: UK tells migrants" http://www.ukmalayalee.com/nri-news/news.php?id=ODQ5 Whats chasing you in your village that you are afraid of that you would rather die in Lagos 2 Likes |

Ngwakwe: The Igbos in Lagos are not migrant workers rather citizens, great investors and economic builders that deserve no less than respect and cordiality. The environment we all live in deserve respect and cordiality because without respecting and taking care of it, there wont be any environment for you to trade in. Too bad many of you are too shortsighted and can not reason beyond your greed and money. Our laws deserve respect and cordiality too because it is all we have standing in between us and lawbreakers, dangerous elements and weapons in our markets. There is more to humanity and sane societies that your money. |

slim fit :You are absolutely right. There is a missing link between and I strongly believe the council guys are receiving bribe for been passive all these years. This is an area that can create employment in Lagos state also if well utilize. Junk yards for car parts are not meant to be clean but that does not mean dirts should be left littering all over the place, which eventually becomes hazard. Those traders should carry out environmental sanitation every monday or friday and if caught doing the opposite a fine should be issued to the accused. |

slim fit : did you say Fashola exploited the Igbos? I think i believe you, fraud is synonymous with these people and being a SAN would not change that orientation.SMH For your information though, if we had gone to court, the matter would have become sub judice and no one would open the place until the case is decided, a situation which would, in Nigeria take an inordinate length of time, NOW, who is the smart kid? 3 Likes |

Re: Lagos Re-opens Ladipo Market by babapupa: 6:29pm On Mar 11, 2013 |
slim fit : This is only your own crude and ignorant understanding of the situation. It was and till is the traders responsibility to keep the place clean on their own by whatever means meaning they furnish their own cleaning materials, clean the market and contract trash disposal with LAWMA. This is still the deal and what they must do and keep doing based on their agreement with the state. It is there in black and white/plain English. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it. The traders have acknowledge and admitted that they messed up and they've assured and promised the state to do the right thing so stop confusing yourself and misleading your people with your silly and ignorant tribal pronouncements.. |

To remotely insinuate that the political shenanigan which surrounded the closing and reopening of the Ladipo market is good governance tells the depth Nigerians have sunken into the intellectual abyss. |

Before I start remember that the IGBO tribe fought the BIAFRA war and loose properties and 3million life. But look everywhere today U still find them doing good individually from SLOT phone in Ikeja to EMZOR paracetamol they are product of an IGBOMAN.I d writer am a yoruba but have travelled far and wide the eastern land studying their culture nature. Now here this : Na the YORUBAS give voice to the IGBO.Do you know that IGBO means I Go Before Others.Come to think of it,there is no business an IGBO man would do without lifting the consignment through Lagos Sea Port. The igbos specialise in Import and Export...They import majorly Spare Parts,Clothing,Electronics,Provisions,Supermarket needs. All this their merchandize they distribute across nigeria using a core value of system I will explain later.U might say opening a shop and runing it should be the occupation of the unskilled or unlettered lots.AGREED.but can U mention YORUBAS that are involved with the business of importing say Clippers. It doesn't sound proffessional for ur qualification right. Some Yorubas work in Multinationals and earn as much as 6million a year yet could not even do anything outside their salary, they invest in share I don't need to tell U what d result of that will be.Check statistics: From Idumota in Lagos to UP IWEKA road in Onitsha to Ogbete in Enugu to Garrison in Portharcourt there are only 20 Importers of Clipper to be used by 150million Nigerian.Do you what this means:less assume that this 20Clipper importers manage to sell to only 1percent population of Nigeria that will mean 1.5million people @ 100 gain they would share 15million naira every year....mind U and the list go on for other necessity imortables allow me to use that word cos he dey paini mi O. The yorubas have the opportunity of bringing in Clippers just to mention a product and selling it to the rest of Nigeria without the cost of transporting it to other states. This cost of transporting containers to the east usually run into 200K at least. The beauty of education is in it application not to always repeat the process all over as if we were still within the four walls of a University thus : A. Wake 5am, off to work B. Do Yes Sir routine things from 8am till 5pm C. Stay in the Traffic Jam for the next 3hours D. Listen to NTA till 10pm on how government can't ever help their own civil servants with 23Billion naira police pension fund gone as a case study into a single man private pocket and the Judiciary can't do anything about it E. Do the same next day year in year out for 35service years only for the stock market scammers to share. F. Some people run back to england to start all over washing corpse in white man mortuaries. The solution is get set to do business no matter your position as civil servant...the best is not enough as a paid worker...time to be your own boss IMPORTING and EXPORTING,MANUFACTURING,SPORTS,AGRICULTURE and it shall be well with Us all. One lesson I have learnt from this whole saga, and particularly from Fashola's government, is that what ever action you take or do not take, certainly people will talk: some will support you and others will not. In other words, you just go ahead and do what ever you think is appropriate and let your conscience judge you before God. Fash himself said it in one his 100 days in office parley, that you don't expect everybody to agree with your policy, that as a matter of fact it is not even good for the polity as all of us can not sleep and face the same direction. He said there are instances where his government had to have a rethink as a result of superior argument. Now, when the market was first closed, the abuses the governor received on this forum was out of this world. but today nko, this same people are praising him. |
