Have you seen my brother? Have you noticed his face lately? A face i dare not look at once more A face i'm scared to paint Fire from sulphur burn in those eyes A despair for the NOW resides therein A face which beams a longing for a brighter day It speaks of the frustration the brain bears An hatred for the day the fingers gave out its print A face armed for survival- Just daily bread I see this face daily This pain so visible A brother, Now 3years with his degree Yet his bearing hasn't found a degree His CV on every table Yet not one seat offered He's been to every office Yet he remains a stranger still Another unlocks his shop But the customers remain locked Goods stacked in there Yet not one finds it good to walk in Hmm, 6pm the clock now ticks But not even 6naira in his purse Yet the kids remain restless for food Yet the rent never goes for summer Bills building without permission He therefore cries "Life; so slow, Life; so hot" His eyes therefore scorch His brain permutates- Now really hot All he wants is a cold life All he dreams is a steady walk One where cash flows like his blood Where the Oga demolishes bills, not his house A life where his face can be faced again Where 'Uche's eye' can become look-able once more Hmm, That's all my brother dreams Simply all he wants But is this too much to ask for? What then should he do? ...SamInspires... |
