Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Churches Pay Salaries To Musicians? by 123over:
My people! This una talk here plenty, no be small.
Paying instrumentalist or not paying instrumentalist, is a never ending topic.
There are two types of instrumentalist. Those that just play without thinking of warm-ups and those that put in everything to bring out the best.
They are both talented but the latter have developed their talents over time. Some instrumentalist spend 4 hours and even more, on their instrument every day warming up, to stay fit (playing very well, even advanced songs on all keys).
If you have a full time job, u cannot grow well in your music ministry. I know we like to faith everything, but the bible says, faith without work is death and that we should study to show ourselves approved unto God. You may say, these scriptures are for spiritual Issues but playing an instrument to God, is a spiritual thing too.
So, If the church is satisfied with what they have (Struggling instrumentalist, since the instrumentalist are trying to struggle with working and till keep up with playing for the church), then let them not pay but they shouldn't put unnecessary pressure on the instrumentalist expecting them to be around whenever they need them.
God is faithful, loving, unchangeable but our church leaders know how to twist things around sometimes to their favor.
We should draw a line between God and the church, even though the bible says they should be connected, the head and body (Romans 12:5).
Sometimes you are there for the body of Christ, contributing your all, without pay and when you are in need, nobody is there for you.
God is a faithful God, and may end up using stones to meet your needs.
God doesn't run the church directly, men do. It is the human factor in the church that brings about errors in the church.
It is well o.
It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). This scripture has been Abused. It was Paul (a leader) that was working to meet his needs and that of others. Do our church leaders do same or they just tell us to give?
Paul says, Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1)
Imagine how the church will look like if nobody is been paid. We all do circular jobs like Paul to help support the church (Acts 20:32-35)
The good news is that, we all have the Bible to read for ourselves too.
There is God o!
Bye!
Music BusinessRe: Learning To Play The Keyboard/Piano by 123over:
NAMES OF KEYS ON THE KEYBOARD/PIANO

The Keyboard is usually made up of black notes and white notes, Arranged in the pattern of 2 black notes, 3 black notes.
The note before the 2 black notes is "C" and the note before the 3 black notes is "F" (There are many Cs and Fs on the Keyboard).
The names of keys on the Keyboard (all key instruments) are borrowed from the English alphabets From A,B,C,D,E,F,G. then A,B,C ...
Once you can get any key, like C or F,keep moving up or down the white notes following the English alphabets till you get to G, then start again
The black notes are called sharps(#) or flats(b) and got their names from the keys close to them.
Going to Your Right hand side, The black note next to a white note is the sharp(#) of that note (The black note after/next to C is C sharp (#)
Going to Your Left hand side, The black note next to a white note is the flat(b) of that note (The black note after/next to D is D flat (b)
One key can have a different name (C sharp(#) is the same key as D flat(b) )
There are "NO" E sharps(#) "NO" B sharps (#) on the Keyboard
There are "NO" F flats(b) "NO" C flats(b) on the Keyboard

For better understanding, please look at the pictures attached to this lesson.

My next lesson would be on chords (chord quality and chord quantity)

Thanks!

Juvante has said it all.
Thanks for your help.

Here are some links that could be useful in applying for an Austrian visa :

http://www.oeh.ac.at/fileadmin/user_upload/pdf/Broschueren/2011/Studying_in_Austria_Web_feb2011.pdf

http://www.aupairaustria.at/english.aspx

http://www.austria.org/visa

To book appointments call this number 080-34338778 between 9am -10am. the appointment they will give you could be in 2 to 3 months and then you have to wait for about 3 to 4 weeks (sometimes longer) for the Visa or refusal to come out. Get all your papers ready before you go to the embassy and try to be there on time on the day of your interview.
Always try and keep eye contacts during interview ( it is very important in Austria). Prepare before you go ( do your homework) what you dont know, ask them to repeat the question and quickly think of something wise to answer.
Check your documents very well and make sure there are no contradictions.
The other thing you can do is to pray.
Your applications are sent to different people in most cases. Depending on who is handling it, it could take long of short. sometime they group files in alphabetical order of surnames or date of births.

I wish you guys all the best.
