It is funny when you see some folks here trying to sell Buhari as a saint and an incorruptible man. It is just laughable. Just because the guy looks like a gate man and talks like one, doesnt make him a saint by any stretch. Buhari belongs to that cabal that plunged this country into immeasurable backwardness and chaos. He has been there from the seventies contributing his quota to looting, bigotry and greed. From OBJ's military tenure where the first major oil fraud was carried out in Nigeria to his 2 years of misrule and truncation of our nascent democracy, sending us into 16 years of military retrogression, to 5 years of PTF squander of over 200 billion naira (that is over a trillion Naira in today's value) during the dark Abacha days. He didnt stop there, he continued to advocate for the islamization of Nigeria, a situation that has led to the present BH saga. Along with Yerima (the pedophile from Zamfara), he championed a sharia campaign to Islamize Nigeria, just like he did in 1983.

Anyone who thinks they can sweep history under the carpet and re-coat it with lies and propaganda is only fooling themselves. Here is a little excerpt from the past to show who Buhari is and has always been!

Calls for 'total' Sharia in Nigeria
2001-08-27 21:32
Lagos - A former military ruler of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has called for the introduction of 'total' Islamic law across the country, reports said on Monday.

Buhari, who ruled Nigeria from a coup in December 1983 to his ouster in 1985, told a seminar in Kaduna, northern Nigeria, at the weekend that the strict Islamic law code known as the Sharia should be introduced in full across Nigeria.

"I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria," Buhari said, quoted in press reports.

"God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country," Buhari said.

Northern Nigeria is mainly Muslim but southern Nigeria is mainly Christian and has led criticism of the introduction of Islamic law in a dozen northern states in the past 18 months.

Africa's most populous country has been shaken repeatedly in the past by religious unrest. In February 2000 between 2 000 and 3 000 people were killed by Christian-Muslim riots in Kaduna over the introduction of Sharia.

Call for Sharia across the country

Buhari's comments were interpreted by the southern-based papers as a call for the imposition of Sharia all across the country, even in the mainly Christian south.

"Buhari calls for Sharia in all states," was the headline of the respected newspaper The Guardian.

Buhari's comments were defended by supporters as simply a call for the full implementation of Sharia in areas where Muslims predominated.

But the comments are the second by Buhari that have courted controversy after he called earlier this year for Muslims to vote at the next presidential elections only for someone who would defend their faith.

This was criticised by the press as a call for voting along religious lines, as well as an attack on the current president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who is a Christian.

Buhari made the latest comments at a seminar organised by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, a newly set up body attended by northern state governments and Islamic scholars.

"It is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly ... and to educate non-Muslims that they have nothing to fear," he said.

"What remains for Muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble their efforts, educate Muslims on the need to promote the full implementation of Sharia law," he went on. - AFP

Buhari is an old cargo and has got nothing to offer. Idiagbon was the pillar of that administration. The very moment he was out of the country was the time Babangida kicked Buhari out like a woman.

True!

Only in Nigeria will a man go from the lecture halls and become a billionaire the moment he stepped in the corridors of powers. A man with no single achievement as a state administrator is made President and its expected that he'll perform some type of miracle....

Only in Nigeria, right?

Ayatollah Buhari Bin Laden is nothing but a mass-murdering hate-monger, whose failing life mission is to turn the Federal Republic of Nigeria into the Islamic Fiefdom of Nigerianistan, ruled over by himself, the Grand Seriki, Head Inquisitor, and Embezzler in Chief.

Look at this ugly mug, and tell me if you can spot even a flicker of human intelligence. I certainly cannot.

It's good to know that people with skeletons in their cupboards are afraid of the old man. You can still take the next flight out the country before it'll be too late for you. Nemesis will soon catch up with looters of our resources. Why should anybody be frightened because of somebody has unparalleled reputation for fighting corruption and indiscipline?

I will educate you a little. Corruption is not and has never been our greatest problem. Our greatest problem is tribalism and disunity. Corruption thrives because of tribalism and disunity and Buhari epitomises that tribal divide. He is the real poster child of division and segregation. If you know anything about Nigeria, then you should know that.

Tribalism gave rise to militancy, BH. Tribalism made them to underdevelop the Niger delta. Tribalism caused the civil war. Tribalism caused coup after coup. The 1991 coup guys cut off 5 states from Nigeria. Tribalism caused the movement of Nigeria headquarters from Lagos to Abuja in a hurry and that caused us terrible economic costs. Tribalism made a region to demand the presidency and promised and delivered hell when they didn't get it. Tribalism is the biggest problem on NL today, not corruption.

Tribalism is our biggest problem, not corruption.

How does tribalism make a state governor loot the resources of his state?

Please read my post again and educate yourself. Your problem is the quota system education you got. Corruption is a response to the fact that no one trusts the system. It isnt the other way around...Get it!

Re: The Real Buhari by Nobody: 1:34pm On Apr 20, 2013
The opposition parties are more into selling individuals than building institutions. They have the audacious and arrogant view that only their singular leadership can deliver and Other opinions are invalid. How democratic does that sound? The biggest mistake we can ever commit is to allow our collective destiny to be teleguided by despotic and hypocritical individuals like tinibu (sic) and buhari (sic). At least with the ruling party it is all business unlike ACP which has a warped sense of personal vendetta and hypocritical greed.
