You see,i strtd training myself at d wndaful age if 15,strtd of wit wapka n shit lyk dat,in ma late swt 16 as wit many teens ma age,i had a GF(PS,no imoralities),yea i loved her alot,had a crush on her since childhood,but i guess d timing was bad,cuz d relationshp strtd jst wen my call to coding was in hyperBoost,i.e my passion 4 everytin c ode out burnd ma passion 4 ha,n she ended up in 2nd place in ma orda of mst prefrd tins.
i didnt giv her enuf tym,i was so in love with php dat i evn 4got her brthday,i spnt way 2much tym online n littl or no tym wit her or evn ma education,and as God wuld hav it,i lost both her and my education...she left me cuz she culd handle it anymre,while oda guys talkd of dir gfs on 2go n socials,i only talkd of framewrks and Object oriented madness,we hardly even talk,n till dis day i'v been unable to win her bak,or evn luv anoda..i ended up repeatin d class,nd dat really leveld ma head alittle.

That's a programming course on its own, I remember forgot I had a date and thinking of source code while with another gal (it was a nasty experience) they felt I was treating them like cheat and nobody loved to be treated like one, not you not me. But Guys sha!!! enjoy your teenage years, you ain't going to have another chance. There is more to life than writing code, cramming algorithm with data structure or spending 20hrs on your system, but I am going to tell you that good programmers write good codes, great programmers delivers solution. So which one do you want to belong to good or great programmer? If you want to be a good programmer kiss good bye to your social life, but if you want to be great a programmer embrace your social life, socialising helps boost your programming skill. on several occasions my girl friend inspired me with solutions to programming problems. Abandon your system fir sometime now go say hi to friends and Gal friends inclusive.

Some of you guys saw the movie social network and start thinking radically (forgetting that our economy don't give room for that )...well it takes more than that, with programming comes maturity, because you can write some lines of codes that will pop up a dialogue box, some even copy codes, especially html,css,php off someone elses site with Ctrl+U and use it for your clients and you call yourselves programmers..well I am not saying you don't get to learn from others but I observe that most people are quick to say I am a programmer with html, php, sql, js, c#, perl,etc experience, makes me laugh..when you so much depend on Template monster..@CODE-EATER I am not sure it was programming that made you lose your gf, what is life without balance? Like you said, give time for other things..and strike the balance between passion and joy.

yes. Thats what i was against, php is meant for the web and should stay there. I get you though. But you know the reason why most people don't take php guys as programmers is because out of ten people that claim to be a php programmer, its rare to see three who knows what they are doing *back to the matter copy and paste*. With some other factors.

I totally agree with @kennyinusa, a newbie or wanna be programmer will always write, slow, messy programs and "we" all were once like that..but I never disrespect those I know were better(note: not on nairaland forum anyway). Age is not a yardstick to determine how good one is but still not a good reason to insult people..I am NOT a green programmer and would say people should be careful how they respond to post, if not "we" would start considering those to assist with codes or programs ( If we are in the position to do so ). Some of us don't just write codes nor do we work with programs from sourceforge, We write COMPILERS!

i know 'newbies' write slow, small, messy programs. But, not all teenagers are newbies..

Am a teenager & certainly a newbie in programming who just wanna learn and i won't call myself a Programmer yet!

Note: everyone started form being a newbie, some weren't even teenagers back then.
