Good day NL members and UBA AfriCard user, I will like us to share our experience with UBA Afri Card, more especially amount charged per currency and the bank charges. I notice there are additional charges after making payment, but I can't figure out how they calculate the charges. I also went to the bank but they weren't able to proof to me how they charge due to the best reasons known to them. So if you know exactly how they charge per transaction please kindly let us know and also today's exchange rate. I must confess UBA Africard charges is much, let ideas flow......... Update: FROM UBA

Youngzedd: Good day NL members and UBA AfriCard user, Sincerely speaking, nothing is free under dis world, no bank has a free charges on third party transaction, meanwhile , UBA Africard is charged at 2.75% on every transaction |
Re: For Uba Afri Card Users Only by Youngzedd(m): 8:52pm On Jun 15, 2013 |
eluquenson: Yup and nothing should be FREE. I later found the charges, upon they charge 2.75%, they will still charge 163 per dollar when others are charging 159. Not only that, when depositing into the account they will also charge 100 Naira. Now a dollar is 162 that means they will charge 169 or 170. Just managing them for now. The charges are much. 1 Like |

eluquenson: They knocked me out from login to online portal, they said I should contact the bank which I did. I requested for pin reset since last month up till now no signal from them. They also did it to a friend of mine. Their staffs knows nothing about AfriCard. Just a question they can't give a reasonable reply. I found all the info on their Facebook page. |

Re: For Uba Afri Card Users Only by kentochdis(m): 7:46pm On Jun 17, 2013 |
Point 1 - I have a personalized UBA Africard (My Name is inscribed in it) Point 2 - After all the verification and changing of pin and password I was able to use the card for ATM withdrawals from UBA ATM and other banks ATM. I have been using it successfully to make purchases on Aliexpress. Point 3 - You are charged N100 each time deposit is made into your account. Point 4 - I made 4 different purchases at different time last month from aliexpress and from my calculations, they were making a one made a deduction each time I made a transaction which amounted to N162.43 conversion rate (please note that it included their charges). Point 5 - From the time i have owned the Africard, I have not received or seen any extra charges. For services, I think, their staff are not too familiar with the card, but they made a lot of provision in terms of write ups to guild and help you with activating and using the card. The problem I think is that most of us don't take time to go through their instruction one step at a time. Cheers. 1 Like |

2s£xy: Go to the branch that issued the card to you and request for the reset of web i-pin. You will be asked to write a letter (short letter pls ) then submit it to them. That is all. |
Re: For Uba Afri Card Users Only by Youngzedd(m): 7:02am On Jun 18, 2013 |
eluquenson: Yeah, that was there initial charge with the 2.75% but What they charged me was 167+ without the transaction charge. I believe it's because of the increase in USD last week. Still waiting for it to fall a bit b4 I carry another transaction. |
