sll that your jargons up there is like a tale of plenty cities.education is in shambles everywhere.nigeria consistently budgets less than 8% for educaion which is a far cry from recommended 26%.and to be honest, osun has one of the highest literary levels in the southwest.

am fairly certain your school is a private school in a bush village.otherwise buttress your points

So you mean, the gadget can serve in place of teachers? Chai so many mad people fool this forum sha,

Mr man, are u the 1st person to serve in this state?. It's so shameful you dont even know the core values of the scheme u're presently representing. Go back to ur NYSC handbook (if u av 1) to understand ur mission in that place. Let me enlighten u a bit, the scheme allows u to come up with a community development project to better the lots of the oeople around u and not to come online to display ur ignorance in the name of criticism. Better make ur impact on ur community like some of us did during our service year and stop this petty talks that does not even portray u as rational in thought. Remember even GEJ was a corps member like u in the same state u're slandering, He served in Iresi not too far from Osogbo like u claim. Remember to "BE THE CHANGE YOU LONG TO SEE".

Sorry i cant give the name of the school, am sure uve never bn to osun to say no part of the state students r sitting on the ground, i have some photos i took while conducting test and exams for this children, but cant upload it for some reaons, beside am not allowed to do that as a serving corper, but pls take a stroll urself, from ila, to odo-oti, borikpe, ifelodun and come back here to tell us ur findings, dont sit in osogbo and assume everythin is okay,

I like the part that says "osun is not a pidgin english school" but the official language is yoruba, my friend u must be a learner, which part of osun are u? Most of the schools in my local govt. They teachers speak yoruba to students in assembly, and they teach this students in yoruba, even corpers who speak yoruba after teaching / explaining in class with english, they translate to yoruba, because majority of them dont understand english, i even did it yesterday, i explained in english and asked one of the student who understand in english to help explain better in yoruba cos majority of the students only understand yoruba, i cant argue wit u bro, am typing from a phone,

We are the reason our leaders looting us dry, can u explain the idea behind the omoluabi uniform been shared for the children when they have no class rooms and chairs to learn?
Two things can't be done at a time and am happy the govt of osun has taken the bull by the horn corcerning education in the state and am sure if the past administration of the PDP led govt have done a bit it won't be as worse as u are describing it now, u said the student can't complete a full sentence in English and the Govt are taken dragmatic step to make sure its curb about the lack of spaces in school, Is the State build model schools or not? And before u reply me kindly share a link of how education was like in your state...Thanks in advance

locdog: is true my brother, am a corper serving in osun .

It is obvious to most people involved with Osun state education that while this is fanciful it is not what the state needs at this point.
What is urgently needed is to address the basic issues of adequate classrooms and quality teachers, chairs, desks, blackboards, functional toilets, well equipped laboratories, well stocked libraries etc.

It is necessary for those of us who know, that a child that tries to run before it can walk will certainly stumble, fall and be afraid of even trying to walk later, to share with others how MSIPLACED this fanciful initiative is.
That is our OBLIGATION!!!

Yes, we acknowledge that the
Governor has
promised to give schools a
face-lift...and even though
all that still remains at the
realm of 'promises'...and
we thank him for that, but
such face lift should not
also involve giving shoes to
people who don't have feet.
So, let out great governor
in his best of intentions,
divert the funds for these
computers to other
immediate needs, like
desks, quality teachers, until we have electricity, conducive
environment for those hitech
tools.
computers/ipad don't

All the secondary
schools... would these
computers/ipad charge on
electricity or candles?

Those of you casting aspertions on the person of Ogbeni Aregbe over this laudable project achievement are either ignorant of its enormous benefits or just mere mischieve makers to say the least. This forum is too small to dish out such details, my advice for you is that you can go to the states' ministry of Education for further clarification. But bear in mind that the 'opon imo' Tablet is completely customised only for learning purposes. Nothing can be written on or copied from the software. If effectively utilised, It will no doubt help the students to learn independently, become more inquisitive thereby given them boldness to ask their teachers petinent questions. As u'll all agree with me that it takes a knowledgeable student to ask questions on His area of weakness thereby making teaching more interesting for the teachers thus enhancing productivity. Or do you ask questions about what you dont understand?
