Hmmm, I still think once a country falls into the mistake of denouncing something like this it is as bad or even worse than acknowledging it. Prison sentences for homo sexuality is stupid but prison terms for upsetting someone's religious sentiments is even worse becauae that opens a door to all sorts of issues.


This is a poor decision IMO.

That is the problem with you people, there is a difference between monitoring their freedoms and denying them freedoms, monitoring what people do is in no way oppression. A Chinese man made an anti Chinese GOVERNMENT statement at the 2012 Olympics, he went home and was beaten within an inch of his life, christian churches in china are underground because the government has to approve what they are allowed to even say, there is no such thing as total freedom anywhere but the wast will never be like China and while the Chinese government does it to keep the people down, the Americans do it to maintain security. @ Mr Dondey, Japan is the 2nd most technologically developed nation after the US and not Russia. They are not even in the top 5 at all.
What has Russia invented/discovered that the world utilize apart from Weapons? No medical breakthrough,Engineering invention and yet someone say they are the 2nd most technologically developed nation just because they passed an anti-gay law. Even S.korea,Singapore are far developed than dem sef.

Don't mix things up: the reasons most people ain't going to russia is the language barrier(few of them speak english while fewer speak other languages apart from russian, secondly people go to countries where they already have family and friends.

However, if it's a "problem," then it's a problem that's here to stay. Regardless, let's make sure we respect human lives and human rights.

Well its not surprising. There's a parallel line btw countries that advocate freedom and the protection of human rights, and those that seek to continously enslave people with no regards for their rights.
Am very sure the whole world knows which group russia falls into. The country is reputed as a home to some of the most ruthless tyrants in mankinds history. Certainly this is not a model Nigeria wants to follow. Gays are here to stay. They re our brothers, sisters, friends, relatives and even parents. There's no law anyone can pass to change that. The worst u can do is to make pple hide their relationships

In terms of places for humans to live on this planet, russia is one of the worst. With no regards whatsoever for human rights, a long history of ruthless and tyranical govts and continous suppression of any form of opposition or dissenting views. Heck, nobody wakes up in the morning and prays to find him/herself in russia! Now, america on the other hand is the most sought after places, not jst to visit but to migrate. An american visa is worth more than a million russian visas
