SLIDE waxie: does a bouyant economy means less unemployment? Think!

US, CHINA, UK all av high unemployment rate. So, what is ur point?

Lmaooo

As per U.K and U.S, you mean "High" like 70% of their citizens are unemployed like Nigeria, or "high" as in when unemployment starts entering double digits the whole Govt comes under fire?

SLIDE waxie:
U can't really blame d govt for d poor ones. At least, the few that ventures into a little biz can give u a positive testimony. But all the rest who expect economy boom to result to 'staying at home and receiving a credit alert in their acc' will die waiting!

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, please spare the Nigerians this your economy crashing sermon/trash,you are just like a King that was always threatening his subjects with a false Lion alarm, everyday he would shout see lion, see lion, his subjects would come out without seeing any lion, but the day the real lion came out , he shouted see lion but his subjects ignored his call and termed it as his usual false alarm, Lion caught him and devoured him.

Nigerians, are sick and tired of this Economy collapse alarm since your second coming to the government. It is high time you stop this false alarm and let the economy collapse so that we can start afresh. We know that it is your tricks to increase the prices of FUEL in Nigeria, to punish the people who voted your boss GEJ, into office.

All the reasons you gave that led to the present situation of the economy is a sign of weakness of this government. Who are the oil thieves? who are supposed to stop the thieves? who is the head of the security of this country?

We know very well that a bad workman always quarrel with his tools. When the two elephants fight the grass suffer. The next thing we will hear now is that the pump price is increased to how much you and your partners in crime like, because you don't buy anything with your money. God is watching all of you. I am happy that 2015 is fast approaching, if you and your gang of thieves are not voted out, you would be gunned out. Take it or leave it.

what about investors from Canada,U.S.A ,Japan,European community very little or no investments from those G-20 nations expect heavy exploitation in the oil and gas sector.South Africa,Lebanon,China and India are heavily depended on the G20 for investments and yet we are happy that countries we should be investing in are investing in Nigeria. highlandre: You don't need to be an economist to know Nigerian economy's trapped: it operates in the realm of theory, but on how it impacts the people, the opposite is the case. A case study is the height of umeployment among the teeming graduates! I'm happy the minister herself confessed to this.
As for those who're saying there are different investors in the country currently, note that our production of oil is a big factor in measuring the poise of the economy, and how this would determine budgetary performance.
If you want to understudy the performance of any economy, measure the rate of employment vis a vis national policies and investments.

This is what happens when a nation is a petro-state.

Putting your eggs and one basket and not diversifying can cause problems for an economy. Especially now that the US does not demand much foreign oil anymore.

This thread is totally baseless. We should stop believing and reacting negatively to everything we read on social networks or pages of newspapers. Every country on the plannet has its on economical challenges at the moment, and ours is not an exception. Iweala has never said our economy is 100 percent sound, she is still at work for crying out loud. We should at least give her some credits, it is not easy to handle economic issues in a compacted and complicated country like Nigeria. Our economy is shaping up on a very long term basis, though growing at a slow pace, but we are on the right track. Foreign investors trooping into the country to invest knows better. Lets pray for our dear Iweala for God to grant her and her team wisdom and understanding on how to channel our economy for maximum growth.

When did ownership of private jets become an indicator of economic growth ? The list I could have expected from you was/is unemployment rate.what difference does it make if 200 people own private jets and their several millions out there who have no jobs and can't feed thrice a day !

She is not lying. The writing is on the wall.

Oil prices are dropping, because of a surge in America's domestic production thanks to fracking.

And when the oil sands in Canada is fully developed, oil prices are going to continue to decline.

Nigeria's dependence on oil revenue cannot be understated.

I just stopped reading at the point where it said the oil production was at its lowest ever, even lower than at the peak of militancy and he quoted a figure of 1.3 million barrels per day. Lol. At the peak of militancy, Nigeria was producing 700, 000 barrels per day. That completely gave them up as shameless liars that cooked up their news from their azz! This is a totally false and bizzaire story. This is not the way to do opposition but it the sad story of Nigeria. A country with an opposition that wants the country to go down so they can rise to power and they will kill, maim, distort, concort lies and propaganda to achieve their aim.

They are even paying a band of hungry folks online to push their cause. Sad!

thoth: The World Bank Witch and her IMF cohorts are planning on how to trap nigeria to borrow more money from them and further dish out their poisonous conditions and austerity measures on us. I wonder what they will want after taking all the National assets, maybe our women will be used to borrow money by then.
Nigeria is borrowing billions every 4 months or so but they are not telling you the conditions on which these transactions were carried out. I strongly believe that the people should agitate to be informed on the conditions which we borrow these money , it is really important the masses know. Buhari fought against this world bank/ IMF demons and Western backed IBB overthrow him and gave us SAP, Abacha fought against same demonic forces and he was assassinated to have the zero conscience Obasanjo to initiate the sale of Nigeria piece by piece in the Name of Forced IMF deregulation and libelization polices and now to Jonathan we stupidly installed an IMF proxy as our Finance Minister ? With all the dooms they created all over Africa and the other parts of the world we are still stupid enough to put somebody that recieved her paycheck from an organisation that predicted our breakup come 2015, an organisation that is abhorred throught south america and far east, an organisation with a very bitter history with west Africa as our Finance minister. Ok lets look on.
simple answer the rich rule over the poor and the borrower is servant to the rich, their job is to destroy the economies of countries by lending as u stated, its gear towards ruling the nations thru debt remember the good book says ....and he made the poor, rich, bond and free to take a mark in his forehead but of course the king of the E.U have people under him carrying out this devices

Keep living in delusion, denial of obvious facts in the embrace of folly and granstanding
So availability of private jets mostly bought with stolen wealth, funneled funds and a looted patrimony is indicative of a sound economy undecided
When many a youth are unemployed
When many federal roads are in disrepair!
Nigeria's income is (tied to oil) dwindling with no alternate sources of income and private jets is all you can put forward undecided
Like I said embrace your folly

When you have more than one person in a meeting, that meeting is no longer secret, there are some in those meetings that will always want the Nigerians to know what is really going on, some of them have conscience and can not stomach the lies they are forced to feed us, you will be surprised that ministers also knowingly leak some of these things, at least when the proverbial tibi hits the fan, they can say they let Nigerians know through back channels.

What is happening in the niger delta right now is supervised stealing of our crude oil. The boys who got the contract to protect pipelines are the ones supervising the theft. They are building a formidable war chest ahead of 2015 elections. Ask oil companies around the area and you will be shocked how much they are spending on pipeline maintenance, security and compensation for spills caused by vandals.
It has never been worse.
