Chairman of the ruling All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP) in Borno State, Alhaji Mala Othman, is said to be on the run as youth groups known as “Civilian JTF” laid siege on his residence in Maiduguri.
Youth groups had recently embarked on hunting of Boko Haram members in the state, capturing over a hundred suspects of the sect members and handed them over to the Joint Task Force for investigation. And as part of the exercise, the youths yesterday cordoned off the residence of the state ANPP chairman in New GRA area of Maiduguri on the allegation that he was a backer and sponsor of the Boko Haram activities in the state.
