When I see the account statement of Nigeria, I'll pass judgment. One point Sahara reporters made is the fact that she claimed paying off the debt was beneficial to the country: I'd like to hear her defend that action now. 2 Likes |

"Academic excellence does not make one a good manager of an economy, especially when such people are not grounded on socio-economic realities of the economy" Well said bro. Using economic policies that were designed and formulated by foreigners for their societies will not have the desired effects if imported to a different terrain...this is particularly so if there's a tangent difference in culture, infrastructural development, means of livelihood, work ethic, nationalism etc Her credentials as a former world bank VP has not worked any magic here! How can she even improve our economy when her policies bear the imprimatur of IMF and World bank Chiefs! No country has ever and can ever be developed through that route! @ Op, every 'news' on Saharareporters may not be credible - but I'm @ least glad they always bring our leaders down to their knees!!! That is something our over conservative newspapers do not do! 13 Likes |

Religion and tribalism is Nigeria's main problem and NOT corruption. It started when being from particular religion and tribe grant you access to the country's resources. NO I is just another tool in the Nigeria's future manipulators. SHARA REP are on point. Both obj and Jonathan are still trying to change the dynamics of how things are done in this country BUT they are up against BORN TO RULE. |

As much as I'm not a fan of the style of reporting by SH, I'm not going to allow my eye get blinded by my disdain for them on the matters of national interest. Questions should definitely be asked of the former world bank vice-president on which of her promises to our dear nation has been fulfiled. Year in and out she has had an influencing role on the decisions made by the FG on matters concerning the economy of the nation and she has promised heaven and earth while delivering her yearly speeches. Questions should be asked of her on how many of this promises have seen the light of the day. 1. Where is the said $1BN per year savings the country is supposed to have since 2006? 2. How well is our currency faring in the international market? Remember that under this same tenure of hers, exchange rate has risen from 155 to 160 instead of reducing to 120 as she boastfully promised. 3. She single-handedly became the spokes-person for the FG during the #occupyNigeria protest promising palliatives that we are yet to see after almost 2yrs of such promises. All the above questions and others, should definitely make her role in the FG cabinet come under heavy scrutiny. The beam of search-light should be on her words more because less than 50% of her promises have seen daylight. I'm pretty sure in saner climes she aunty Ngozi would be out of power already. However, the said SR's should bring up more objective questions and not allow their scrutiny be fueled by so much political hate towards the GEJ led administration. At least we see how well their major members(the Twitter Political CANARY family) lick her ass at the slightest mention of her name on Social media. LAST SHOT: Like @takeDat said, Academic excellence doesn't guarantee being a good manager of an economy. Aunty Ngozi should please leave the four walls of power if she can't deliver her promises before she gets disgraced out. We've got better hands outside that will deliver better if given the chance. Soludo at least did it before our randy Mallam Sanusi........ ..:x... 7 Likes |

2013 Budget is yet to be passed in the 7th month of the year! Do the budgets mean anything at all? How is SEC funded by the way, since there was nothing allocated to it in 2013 'draft' budget? Madam NOI has been doing a lot but I think she needs to listen to the people. Their reforms have had no positive impact on the welfare of the people. There are a just a very few members of the 'cabal' that are smiling! |

But seriously, it's high time government starts dealing with this SR. I don't see the connection between OBJ's regime and Jonathan's to justify that Nigeria is broke. Which country doesn't borrow to finance it's development projects. Even the US had to borrow 2 trillion dollars to dund it's budget last year. And since when is it a crime to translate our savings to Niara? And which oil cartels are they talking about? The numbers of importers that have been reduced to38 or so. Since when were workers not owed their salaries even from the time of military regime till now? And look at their excuse:- that because Nigerian soldiers are begging for food in mali shows that we are broke. Are these people stvpid or what do they take Nigerians for. Another reason they gave is that boko haram has killed our economy. Is this not the same SR that said that boko haram overan and took over a military baracks in Baga? If this people have been bought over by any politician they should please say so because this is unbecoming of a serious news organisation. It reminds me of lie Mohammed. 2 Likes |

We don't need Sahara reporters to spill the obvious to us An economy whose fundamentals are growing in press reports yet is not reflected in the lives of the people whilst unemployment keeps rising A NOI whose finance ministry gave conflicting reports to that of the CBN,Customs and Petroleum resources during the Farouk Lawan TV series How come many Nigerian foreign missions are having cash flow problems? Or that many FG roads are in a state of disrepair I could go on and on but someone should tell Nigeria's 'prime minister' that talk is cheap and we are not convinced, impressed nor do we believe Nigeria is not currently broke Anyway ,GEJ is just fulfilling his destiny Thank you Pastor Tunde Bakare for alerting us beforehand 4 Likes |

bot101: Sahara Reporters is a news agency being manipulated by the western world to make Nigeria's image consistently blacker than coal. Its because of mentality like yurs that nobody tries to utter a word about what the rogues we have in offices are doing. So the western people are the ones that tell our leaders to embezzle every dime in the treasury D western people are the one creating unemployment D western people pardoned the crooks that embezzled the money that belongs to me and you D western people don't want us to have good roads and people die on our roads on daily basis while life goes on D western world make our leaders not to do anything about electricity abi D western world made our judiciary system so corrupt: if you steal billions, you pay back few thousands and go free, steal a bb from a politician, you get 35 years in prison. D wetern world asked Farouk to be sleeping in court while he was on court trial. Of course he knew the end from the beginning if not why would someone with such an allegation have a peace of mind to be sleeping IN COURT during his trial. Don't forget Ibori was declared innocent in NIgeria but for the intervention of the western world. D wetern world asked our leaders to keep borrowing money and not doing anything meaningful with it. Everyday our economy has improved, our economy has improved. Yes I agree it improves all the time for those in aso villa. Everyday we recover Abacha's loot. What happens to OBJ's loot, IBB'S loot, other governors apart from ibori. Sorry they're innocent. D list goes on and on imho, I really thank God for sahara reporters because if everybody reasoned like you, blaming everything on western world, our case would have been finished In conclusion, if it takes the western world to make our leaders (past and present) see how shamelessly they're running Nigeria, so be it. Kudos to saharareporters for having some balls In case you don't know the difference, Nigeria is as bad as its being painted when compared to the western world you're referring to 21 Likes |
