This is question non of these defenders of south west is yet to answer. No body is doubting all they have said they are but what they can't deny is calling mr. President a retardd. There is no justification what so ever for that level of nastiness. It is either you guys are gracious enough to admit and apologize or continue to disgrace your region and your parents.

what did the leaders from your region do when turai yaradua and the 'cabals' prevented GEJ from gaining access to the seat of power in aso rock? Wasnt it south westerners like TUNDE BAKARE, WOLE SOYINKA, FEMI FALANA and other SNG memebers that took to the street of abuja and fought for GEJ. The south westerners are known to speak up against glaring injustice even while others keep mute.

So, you and your people are this intelligent and Nigeria is a mess?, why didn't your people use their intelligence to make Nigeria a great country instead of institutionalization of Corruption.

No tolerance for bad leader and we ar known for critism..if u noticed, yourabas are always leading any protest concerning the national issue even during removal of fuel subsidy, yorubas are the one who lead most protest and criticised most. We are outspoken and blunt in our speech..the fact always comes from the yorubas..life without haters is meaningless.. And we thank God we are known with critisim if not for that no government would want to improve on their task thats why south west is developing rapidily..haters keep hating and we kiping moving higher. How do you criticise an elder in your family if he goes wrong, by calling him a fool and a retard? criticism is different from insult. The comments of some nairalanders here seriously negate what I was made to believe while growing up about the south westerners. For someone who hasn't lived in any south western state, it'll be hard to convince such a person that the yorubas respect their elders or even positions of authority.

Anyway, what I see about your comment is GEJ disappointed this country, there was so much hope on him. Everyone thought GEJ is Nigeria messiah, GEJ didn't win only in Osun state in the south west states in the last election, Lagos,Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti are dominated by ACN yet they voted mr president of PDP, their expectations was cut short in return. E gun eshin ni kese, e lo n tapa, baba ta ni won o gun nirin lese ti o ni fese keji jo erinmogangete. What will you say about others who calls asiwaju (leader of Yorubaland) Tinubu.

Maybe nairaland has to start from somewhere, the previous moderators failed to do their job and the ripple effect has extended and may continue to extend to future leaders if nothing is done. People who are naturally abusive must be checkmated in a public forum like this otherwise others will join.

Thid is pathetic. The poster acknowledges that the strenght of yoruba culture lies with the long history of respect for ones elder, but he berates youths for charting a new path. It is sad that some of us here found any sense in defending what is wrong. Take correction and move on. Th poster's observations are accurate.

maybe after reading this, you will know that 90% of southwesterns hate incompetency:

CITING some recent observations said to
indicate the nation’s economy is in crisis, the
Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) yesterday
warned that if urgent and honest steps are
not taken to arrest the apparent drift, the
country may find itself in serious economic
depression capable of crippling national
development.
In a statement yesterday, the Yoruba socio-
cultural association said there were fresh
signs that removed any doubt as to crisis in
economy. According to the group, in recent
times, the Federal Government, in the face of
dwindling oil revenue, has been scurrying for
funds.
It said besides realising its bloated
governance structure, the government has
suddenly remembered that many of its
agencies are not remitting revenue to its
coffers. The group pointed at what it
described as allowance impasse in the
country’s national team, Super Eagles, at
recent international events as one of the
indicators of a troubled country. The football
team was said to have arrived at the venue of
their last Cup of Nations match just hours
before the match. The same was said to have
happened when they faced Tahiti at the
Confederation Cup and it took a presidential
intervention to resolve the impasse.
The Federal Government, Afenifere recalled,
has not also been able to meet its financial
obligations. Commissioners for Finance were
said to have walked out on the Minister of
State for Finance recently over unpaid arrears.
“We cannot even imagine what this portends
for many states that depend on federal
allocation to meet financial exigencies”, the
group stated.
A few weeks ago, the Minister of Finance, Mrs.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, disclosed that the
country’s foreign debt stood at US$6.67
billion.
Afenifere, however, pointed out that the
ministry curiously forgot to tell taxpayers the
current status of the nation’s domestic debt,
which she said, was $42.23 billion in August
2011. “We feared she intentionally left out this
detail as the value may be shocking”, it said.
The strongest of these signs, as far as
Afenifere is concerned, is the revelation that
came a few days ago, purportedly from the
Finance Minister that the nation’s economy is
in doldrums while addressing the meeting of
15-member Economic Implementation Team.
According to Afenifere, Okonjo-Iweala’s recent
heated demand for passage of amended
budget, without which she said the economy
would collapse by October, is therefore, not
surprising after allegedly admitting behind
closed doors that the multi-billion naira
contract awarded to Niger Delta former
militants to guard petroleum pipes has not
paid off. “If anything, the country now records
worse cases of crude oil theft, which have
seen the country losing,” Afenifere said.
“In fact, we may be witnessing the most
profligate administration in Nigeria’s history
under President Jonathan and the abetting
National Assembly that has refused to carry
out people’s oriented agenda. This is why we
have always said this governance structure
that allows for profligacy and unmitigated
corruption must be pulled down to pave way
for a Sovereign National Conference, which we
are confident, will bring about efficient and
transparent management of the country’s
resources.
“And we dare say that the time is now
because we would not stand by and watch
Jonathan’s administration drag all of us into
bankruptcy. Finance Minister reportedly
complained that NNPC has refused to be
accountable to the nation, what more portrays
ineptitude?”
The group, therefore, called on Nigerians to
“join us in demanding the restructuring of the
current system, so that the people can live
good, healthy and productive lives, in a
country where no man is oppressed.”

Who is bold enough to call GEJ a slowpoke or any sort of abusive words one on one. When critisicing u express your totally feelings without hiding anytin. Hope u undatstand my point?
