I stumbled across this picture of a village taken in a village in the niger-delta before the environmental degradation set in.

Notice how clean the water was then. I can imagine the kind of fish they would have been feasting on back then. That part of the country also has good soil and used to be heavy on agriculture back then.

It's a pity that their leaders are mostly too corrupt, incompetent and too bethroned to GEJ and PDP (and similar wasted politicians) to reverse the current tragedy.

These politicians really derailed this country from where it is supposed to be by now.. They had the opportunity to make this country the envy of the world by now. They would have been heroes.

When the devil takes hold of a people, evil takes over the land.If Gej wastes this opportunity to develop the niger delter region, then in the years to come they will have no one to blame but themselves.

Very fake...

However, who do we blame? The oil companies? The government or what?

Everything has a price.. These pipelines are vandalised by the same villagers out of greed for money. I remember in the 90s when these villagers would throw dynamite unto a pipeline, blow it up and then call Shell to come and pay compensation.

Everybody has a share of this blame..

You don't just post a picture and tell us it's the Niger Delta. Let's see a source from where you got the pictures. That village could have been anywhere. There's no guarantee that that place is even Nigeria.

How do we know this picture is actually a village in ND? It could be an impression of some random artist anywhere in the world.

Your ancestors were rather more interested in catching and selling their own kind for bottles of whiskey and schnapps. Their great- grand children ( all born with iniquity) were the NPN, and now PDP; they have continued where their ancestors stopped in a different form.
They look the other way as their century old trade partners destroy our environment, soiling the future of unborn generations of Africans. Environmental hazards are foreign to Africans nature loving people due to modern global capitalist's greed for more money, at the expense of clean environment.
