Six prominent socio-cultural and political
northern groups led by the Arewa
Consultative Forum (ACF) and Northern
Elders Forum (NEF) said, yesterday, that
President Goodluck Jonathan was
gradually leading the country into a state
of anarchy.
The other groups the Northern Union (NU),
Arewa Reawakening Forum (ARF), Arewa
Research and Development Project (ARDP)
and Code Group (CG) underscored the high
level of lawlessness, abuse of power and
rule of law by the President and his wife,
Dame Patience and described it as part of
deliberate effort to extend the
administration beyond 2015.
They also accused former President
Olusegun Obasanjo of betraying the north,
and alleged that the late President Umaru
Yar’Adua was killed in order to sabotage
the agreement on rotation of Presidency
which they said Jonathan was a signatory
to.
However, they insisted that “President
Jonathan must be ready to concede power
to a northerner through our voting
strength.”

I like the last paragraph wia dey said Jonathan must be ready to concede power through their voting. This is what reasonable elders should be preaching. Kudos to them for this, unlike some poorly educated illiterate and good for nothing elders threatening violence and break up if dia son is not elected president.
