D 200m performance from d Ukrainians has shown dat Nig chances of getting a bronze in d 4 x 100 is actually very slim.

ritux: I don't want to be pessimistic here, but I don't see Blessing getting a medal in this 200M race. I am not impressed with what I just saw.

Not sure what race you were watching, she jogged the last 100 metres practically...anyway, the semi-finals this evening will give us a much better clue as to what to expect in the final tomorrow...

Bahamas will be there in 4x100m, and probably even Trinidad & Tobago, despite the absence of Kelly-Ann Baptiste...but Nigeria should make the final, and from there ANYTHING is really possible - dropped battons, poor exchanges, etc...the relays are really the most difficult event to predict so I think a Bronze could still be possible...

OMG! Allyson Felix and Okagbare side by side in the heat?! That is gonna be mouth-watering.
Blessing's race starts at 4:53pm.

Before that race, the Nigerian 4x400m relay team will run at 4:05pm.

this is not so difficult ... the only person better than her is allyson ... and am not seeing Allyson in her very best ... but we never know ... she ll surely make d finals

Dis is actually very diff becos of d importance of lane draw in a competitive 200m. She would need to win dis heat or get d fastest time after d winners 4 her to get d favorable lane3,4,5,6. A lane 1 or 2 for her would make her medal chances almost impossible.

I disagree. This is the most difficult semi final. However, it will be good to see Blessing actually run fast. She's been very slow at Moscow so far, albeit she's done so in the heats.
Personally, I think she's a bit jaded. Not the sharp sprinter we all saw in the diamond leagues. BUT, if she can run near 22.35 in the semi, then she's back.

Can Okagbare actually get something fro the 200 meters race? I just watched Allyson Felix and Ahoure and i'm doubtful. Is that Jamaican chick also running?

Yup. Shelly-ann is running too.

So the men's 4x400m relay comes first. I think Nigeria MAY go through as one of the fastest losers. Our men are not that great this season, not bad for the final either. Depends who coach Okon puts on the 3rd leg though. I'll prefer Noah Akwu there as he has the fastest leg of all the 4.
Also, looks like there's a bit of disunity in camp Nigeria. Home based athletes grumbling. May affect our relay races...
