In military, South Africa is way behind Uganda.
Your stat in this forum is too shallow for someone who claims to be a pro in defence news and information details.

However, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion so it's okay. This comment is my opinion and any reply base on your opinion will be majestically discarded.

South Africa behind Uganda? Lol ok bud

Anyway, the post you are quoting me on says nothing about RSA soo... Why bring it up?

The fact is alot of arguments here are unnecessary. Nationalism has eaten so deep into people in here.

Alot of arguments here are based on this one is betye4 than this etc but they never mention why instead start E-war.

Arguing like an intelligent fellow brings joy and respect. Imagine someone saying the f16 is a better aircraft that the Rafale with no reason or whatever. The next action is using vulgar languages at each other. What's wrong with analyzing speed? Turn rate? A rafale uses sososo missile and if able to lock on the F16, the f16 won't be able to do sososo due to sososo.
Now that's an intelligent argument, but instead useless arguments start in here.

Yes nationalism comes in and I'm not in support of any one here but I'm Nigerian if you say shit at Nigeria, I'll just ignore you and if you're going to keep acting dumb I'll give you a reply you deserve . I have seen alot of useless, unintelligent response from nairalanders so I'm used to it.

Patches seems to be a guy always picking on Henry posts even at the slightest issue and Henry too comes in hot.

The damn fact here is only few people have access to technical capabilities of some of these hardware being discussed in here. Just a bunch of internet fanboys arguments. I don't usually contribute If topic ain't about Electronic Warfare, Aircraft and communication where I have first hand information. This thread is about military and someone brought out economy issues? When you all have nothing to argue again, I see people taking arguments to each other country economy, HIV, Internet and what so ever. Moreover I see people taking about race here angry What's with race and military? Look at the Algerian guy here, the guy does his things well and avoid issues. There was this issue of him claiming men of the Nigerian Navy SBS were not Nigerians but the guy apologized with him posting a picture of their face uncovered and admitting his mistakes.

We all should learn to accommodate each other.

I ignore 80% of Henrys posts

I only pick up on him if he:
A. Says something insulting
B. Says something patently false

I would look forward to debates like the one you outline above, but people round here prefer to trade in petty insults... And if that is the currency of the thread, then i too shall trade in it

Now you're getting really paranoid about Nigeria.. In a bid to sound informed, you pass off pure BS as facts. Making jaundiced analysis based on your warped logic, backed by your own thoughts and imagination wouldn't cut it.

Because you say so? Based on which rating or facts?
Owning Tucanos doesn't mean COIN superiority, records do.

A classic case of selective amnesia.

It is you that's failing to give credit where its due, Nigeria practically funded the Apartheid struggles and remains the largest sponsors of ECOMOG, check the records. Kenya's intervention in a handful of countries wouldn't erase from history, the contributions of Nigeria to Africa

As a matter of fact, my earlier comment wasn't directed at you but you decided to jump on my mentions to spew utter tosh passed off as facts. This chest beating needs to stop, the level of pettiness is getting nauseating. If you don't have pictures to post, stay quiet and not stoke the fire. I for one was ready to hold my peace on the back and forth.

It's not news that the Nigerian military is not where they are meant to be, is the country able to afford high tech equipments? Of course it can, is the military adequately equiped? Yes, based on current threats. Future threats? Confirmed order of 12 Mi35m, 6 Mi171sh, bringing the number of attack helicopters to 42. Unknown numbers of Super Tucanos and possibly 40 JF17 (3 on order).

My question is this, what's your obsession with Nigeria that you would spend 3 days going back and forth about something you know nothing about?

I will rather have a weaker currency and be able to fund the military than a "strong" currency, with an economy in stagnation, a consequence of which your military isn't funded.

After all is said and done, Nigeria is moving forward as a nation, the equipments are being ordered, SAAF still has 8 pilots for 24 Gripens, and I am done responding to you guys on this matter, it's a pure waste of time.

1. Adhomines do not an argument make
2. Nigeria had effectively nothing to do with ending Apartheid. That's just insulting.
3. Kenya's record is far better than yours
4. SAAF obviously has more Gripen pilots than that. Petty insults don't win arguments.

5. Why do you bring RSA into the discussion about Kenya and Nigeria

Up your game, bud.

South Africa retook the number 1 spot economically

There is no meaningful way of measuring military might

There are no "giants" only regional powers.

Stop with the foolish and meaningless statements

Check your last verified date and I'll show you recent news. Nigeria now has the Biggest economy in Africa

Have always said it. Most of these foreign companies are thieves. Well it's buisness generating billions of revenue. Prices on UAV are too high yea I know and I'm very sure.

Mouth sealed.

That's just the truth!

How can a Diaghram that we are making at 25k naira, be sold to us by the foreign vendors at 5 million naira. It gladdens the heart to see that all the vital things we need to fly our aircrafts are now made in Nigeria. It's perfect!

We are making good progress, We would continue to advance on our local technologies as the years go by.

how about when france attack north africa??...isnt it better to push france far away from the borders of north africa than wait until france reach the borders of south africa??...

then south africa will surely loose against france, because the resources of the rest of africa would be open for them to use anyhow....

this is what happened in the colonial times...african tribes didnt go into colonization willfully...

thats why i was asking you that question for a while now....
are you ready to fight toghether with blacks and fight and kill people that look like you??...
How long is it going to take before you get it in your undeveloped brain that white South Africans especially afrikaner/boer people are NOT European??

We fought colonialism just like any other black nation in Africa and in fact fought with black people on many occasions even against a white enemy.

That's the sure way to make good dual defence/civilian industry progress.

We've done pretty well all things taken into account, based on the deliverables from the 3 Armed services, we've done really well.

The reason we laugh at ur giant country( in terms of population and stupidity) is that the governments budget is 4% of its GDP. The only country with a single digit ratio is SOMALIA( & Haiti). GDP means nothing when foreigner steal it all back to their country. Nigeria is truely a giant zoo which sits on gold which they think they own. Hahahaha

Egypt to soon receive its first Ka-52 combat helicopters from Russia

The Egypt’s military is to receive its first Ka-52 combat helicopters in the third quarter of 2017.

In an interview with Russian news agency TASS, Russian Helicopters subsidiary Progress Arsenyev Aviation Company’s CEO Andrei Boginsky said the first batch of the Ka-52 reconnaissance/attack helicopters (also known by the NATO reporting name Hokum-B), would be delivered before the end of 2017.

The Egyptian Defence Forces has ordered 46 Kamov Ka-52 helicopters in 2015. The Ka-52 Alligator is a next-generation reconnaissance and combat helicopter designed to destroy tanks, armoured and non-armoured ground targets, and enemy troops and helicopters both on the front line and in tactical reserves. The helicopter can operate around the clock and in all weathers. The Ka-52 can provide target acquisition and designation for helicopter teams and ground troop command and control.

The helicopter can operate around the clock and in all weathers. The Ka-52 can provide target acquisition and designation for helicopter teams and ground troop command and control centres. It can also provide fire support for troop landings, fly routine patrols and escort military convoys.

In the military sense Kenya is far superior to Nigeria, in COIN at least.

You want to talk about foreign interventions?

Somalia > Gambia + Sierra Leone+Liberia

Give credit where credit is due

Is this still correct math? at the bolded
