Probably the most insane Rooivalk video ever!! Yanks have been calling it fake/photoshoped since it went viral!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gPVLhNA90w

Aiayayaya!! What time was that vid taken? Judging from the sand it seems like a desert or semi arid environment and when the ground heats up you get strange updrafts, cross currents and thermals that can REALLY REALLY REALLY mess up high speed low level passes. Usually that effects starts around noon.

Pardon my mega pixel, I came across this aggressive police guy escorting the fully tinted hilux at a mechanic village.
What amaze me was the shade of camouflage he was wearing , I only thought it was strictly Russian trained SF.
Does any one know what unit of NPF uses such

Don't know the exact time but it was at de brug training area in Bloemfontein somewhere around mid to late May....not sure if it was before or after the Armies capability demo......anyway winter in SA starts around mid May so it was pretty chilly in Bloem also it just rained a day or two before the video was taken.

apparently they were testing radar systems.......as you know Bloem is so flat you can check your dog running away for 3 days, thus pilots have no cover thus they have to fly as low as possible to avoid radar detection

NAF REAPS FROM CAPACITY BUILDING INITIATIVE

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is already directly reaping from its human capacity building drive, being one of the key drivers of the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar. The revelation came to the fore during the recent tour of operational facilities embarked upon by the CAS to the NAF unit in Kainji. While on the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar was briefed by the NAF technicians who had just successfully repaired 6 Alpha Jet aircraft engines.

The NAF Team that repaired the aircraft engines comprised one officer and 2 airmen, all of who, in December 2016, attended a 12-day Alpha Jet Aircraft Engine Assembly and Disassembly Course in Canada, as part of the NAF's capacity building efforts. It is noteworthy that foreign vendors had earlier quoted the sum of $400,000 to recover each of the engines, amounting to $2.4 million to repair the 6 engines. However, the NAF team was able to repair the engines by using spare parts available in the warehouse. As a result, the country was saved the sum of over $2.4 million that would have otherwise been used to recover the engines. This is besides the usually huge cost of freighting the engines to and from overseas repair facilities and the associated delay.

Meanwhile, the engines have already been installed on 3 Alpha Jet aircraft and deployed for air operations in the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the northeastern part of the country. According to Air Marshal Abubakar, the capacity building efforts of the NAF had been made largely successful due to the unflinching support the NAF was receiving from the Federal Government, especially through timely releases of needed funds.

According to the 1998 defence review we had a requirement for 16 light fighters and 32 medium fighters......so I think it's a pretty fair assumption that we would've gone for the Gripen regardless of the budget albeit only 16 units.

more importantly why are some spotting red stripe while some spots yellow stripe?
I think the bombs with yellow strips are high explosives while those with blue strips are incendiary? might also point out varying sources.
