We'll probably have to go in and rescue their PM, again.
I usually refrain from politricks here, but I wish we could do a Putin and annex Lesotho and Swaziland. They're entirely dependent on us, have proved themselves woefully incapable of self-government and caused us no end of headaches.

I would go for southern Mozambique, Mpumalanga needs a beach front grin

Egg-beaters do this all the time, apparently. These guys have learned the hard way that in the 21st century, everything is recorded.

In the DRC now, platoons going on patrol have to check that no-one takes along a mobile tongue. Never mind that we Saffers are the only ones enforcing the policy. The Malawians and Tanzos happily snap and record away and have started charging our guys for footage in which they feature grin grin grin.

I wonder who came up with this silly policy. Think about it, the Border War had thousands of pictures taken and it was in the 80s. Lesotho was hardly documented, Bangui has no pictures and now the DRC. Honestly, this would have been huge PR for the military. If they don't allow you to bring cameras then they should allow a dedicated platoon photographer to document your patrols and battles.

Fvck Putin, that would require a Bismarck. All the cousins - Moz, Zim, Bots, Nam, Zam brought into a Southern African super state. The other SADC countries would clamour to join.

There are official photo & video ppl; their output is rather dodgy. Check "Soldier" magazine for proof. Meanwhile the UN/Monusco encumbers people with media crews who have no concept of OPSEC (the very 1st pic of a Recce in the DRC was on the UN/Monusco website - the chap had the presence of mind to obscure his face).

Pic not related.

This is an unfortunate comment. Quite frankly, disgraceful.

That's common basic training they had in South Africa, something regularly carried out here at home.

It's not rocket science.

It's like an individual going about saying "thanks for the add" on facebook. It is not a favour, the Air Force paid for the service.

The volume of officers we train each year is very high, it is not unusual that men get trained abroad. We have been doing that since the air force was formed 53 years ago. In like fashion we train hundreds of other nationals in our defence colleges.

The current SAAF CAS was also trained in Nigeria.
I really don't understand the snobbish attitude in your comments.
What is wrong in sending Nigerian Airforce Cadets to South Africa.
Our own Helicopter and Basic Pilot training schools both at Zaria, Kaduna and Enugu are full. This is a comment that the CAS openly stated last year.
He said we are going to send some of our young men to South Africa, UK, and the USA.
I don't care whether it is basic or advanced flight Training because the NAF are Military personnel from a Foreign Country the School that trains them has to be certified by the South African Government, and saying thank you is being graceful regardless of whether We paid for it or not.
There are Countries that Nigeria has paid for equipment that we still haven't received.
@the Height of BH that we gave their Generals basic and Advanced Training refused to give Nigeria a single pistol , they gave us a lot of insults.
Mr Henry it is only to the better security of Africa when two of the most powerful Nations interchange Men and ideas.

I looked up the private firm (Westline Aviation) their aircrafts and training programs, I think it was a very basic training that Gould have happened anywhere even Zaria.

The advanced lead in fighter training is usually done in the U.S on T-38 Talon.
We also send them to Pakistan , and in the past to Belarus .

The South African government didn't allow anything. Anybody can register for flight instruction at any accredited institution. It's called a free society.
Please don't talk about something you don't know anything about.
When commissioned officers from a Foreign Country enter another Country they first register at the Airport and from the host Country a signal is sent.
I doubt very much that South African defense Intelligence is that lax that Any Private individual can set up Airline training School without getting prior approval from the Defense department.
Every Black/Brown /White South African Officer that came to Nigerian is known to our Defense Intelligence that is how Mr Henry can tell you who amongst your officers trained in Nigeria.
Likewise I can tell you not all the Rwandan Generals trained in Uganda.

I really d.

If you see nothing distasteful in your comment, then i really have nothing further to say.

Let me reiterate, it is not a favour. It is a service paid for, there is absolutely nothing to be thankful to anybody about.

Let me add, the South-African government had nothing to do with anything.

The SA government might have something or nothing to do with the training BUT your response is something else. It's bordering on your usual "hate everything south" stance. If you didn't have anything to say you should have ignored and moved on.

Inaccurate!

If you are reffering to the CSAAF he wasn't trained in Nigeria. The officer you might be referring to retired he was the deputy CSAAF.

Picture related.

What amaze me was the shade of camouflage he was wearing , I only thought it was strictly Russian trained SF.
Does any one know what unit of NPF uses such

You are right.
However, elements of MOPOL and CTU/ATS that participated in Sambisa/BHT related operations had military kit issued to them in theatre.

This was explained to me by a MOPOL officer I asked after seeing him similarly dressed.
