Very interesting! I know they help out a lot financially and militarily in Moz and Angola but why the CAR? Fyi that 6th world country in the middle of Africa is the most backward,underdeveloped and poorest in the world not just in these parts. In fact the CAR doesn't even appear in some stats.

1) Strategic geo-political considerations. With their deployment to Haiti over, they were the only aspirant to permanent Security Council membership not involved in major peace-keeping.
2) The visiting planners say the military's not happy with being deployed on policing duty in Rio and will use the CAR mission to argue for a quick end to that tasking.

From conversations I've had with Nigerian officer mates, the BH scumbags have distracted you from the strategic picture around your region. Not to say you should've responded to a minnow like EG, but my counterparts at Nigerian DHQ seemed neither aware of the developments at EG nor the motivations thereof. Angolan military and civil intelligence though, is paying close attention.

Let's not forget the disputed waters around Sao Tome also involve EG, Angola (big brother to Sao Tome), France (big brother to Gabon and Cameroun); apart from just Sao Tome and Nigeria.
