He got pissed due to lack of support from the Govt./ Military, and he complained about how running the blog is costing him some pretty penny.
We begged and begged, but beeeg no gree stay oooo lol
Funny enough he spend more time preaching on tweeter as compared to the blog, which only requires one or two thread a day, in other words, he could have left the blog running and let people post contents, that is, pics, that way blog stays alive without him doing much.
Anyways, he knows best.

Denel Dynamics Mongoose 3 Missile

"The transonic Mongoose 3 is being developed to protect bases by engaging incoming munitions at ranges from 300 m to 2,000 m, complementing the 10,000 m range supersonic Cheetah missile the company is also developing.

The two missiles share a 105 mm diameter basic airframe, active radar seeker, warhead, fuze, and servos, as well as other components and algorithms. They are designed for integration with a range of sensors and fire-control systems, including the Rheinmetall Skyshield, which is to be acquired by the South African Army for its upgraded twin 35 mm anti-aircraft guns.

The 13 kg, 1.2 m Mongoose 3 is a highly agile, vertical-launch missile that uses side-thrust motors to tip it over after launch. It then uses synchronised dorsal and tail fins to steer it towards its target, guided by its active radar seeker.

In addition to its primary C-RAM role, the Mongoose 3 will also be able to engage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including small types that present difficult targets for other systems and helicopters that come within range. It is also intended as a self-protection weapon for helicopters."

Kenya military budget now $1.07B. and internal security (police) now $1.4B... this includes about $150m each for police and military 'mordernisation'.

I hope that a serious audit of the military is conducted because despite the increase in allocation there is no major weapon systems that have been acquired. Most of the acquisitions have been donations from friendly countries. I suspect that serious graft and corruption is likely to be uncovered.

Don't be too sure. It all depends on the fine print and currency fluctuations between delivery and signing of contract.

I wish i could be as optimistic as you but i find it a bit ironical that KDF managed from 2009 - 2013 to acquire : 67 puma mraps, 12 second hand f-5 jets, thousands of m4 rifles, 3 mi-17 helicopters, 18 nora b52 howitzers, 6 grob light trainers , 4 harbin Z9 helicopters and overhaul of its panhard and vickers tanks with a budget of around 600 mil - 800 mil USD.

However from 2014 to date the defence budget has hovered around the 1B usd mark with an additional 100 mil - 200 mil usd for modernization and yet there has been nothing of significance that has been acquired. There is a real possibility that they have been acquiring 'AIR'.

Adacel Successfully Completes ATC Simulator Project in Algeria

Orlando, Florida, June 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adacel Systems Inc. (Adacel or the Company), an industry leader in the design and production of air traffic control training systems , reported that they have completed installation and site acceptance testing for an Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation system and Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE) training system at Blida, Algeria.

Under terms of the contract with the Commandement des Forces Aériennes, Ministère de la Défense Nationale Algeria, Adacel has supplied their state-of-the-art MaxSim ATC simulation systems comprised of multi-position control tower, approach radar and precision approach radar (PAR) simulators. The systems will accommodate both individual and team training in the control tower and radar disciplines and can be operated independently or in a fully integrated mode. The ICE station is an independent system that is primarily used to assist training in aviation phraseology proficiency and communications procedures.

Adacel is pleased to support Algeria’s commitment to providing the best possible ATC training for their controllers,” said Gary Pearson, Adacel CEO. “As the major supplier of ATC simulators, we continually develop advanced technologies to provide the ultimate in training capabilities for our customers.”

Algeria joins an impressive group of ATC training providers around the world that employ Adacel’s simulators as an integral part of their curriculum. The Company has more than 350 installations at 232 worldwide locations.

Foreign Powers denies Central African Republic from receiving Chinese arms

A request for the easing of the arms sanctions imposed on the Central African Republic (CAR) by the UN Security Council for the country to receive donated weapons from China has been denied.

The CAR Minister of Defence Marie Noelle Koyara requested an easing of the weapons embargo placed on the country, stating that the Central African Republic is confronted by “escalating violence” from various armed groups threatening the stability of the country.
