I heard sen. murray bruce, talk about the drama this morning on radio...he was giggling and stuff, he called the dss guys the good guys, just doing their job that they were only acting on the order from 'above' he said he'd called all the embassies to block the visas of sen. akpabio and his family, he also said they should get him a donkey..lol....that he's going nowhere and would remain in Nigeria for his holidays.....he was trying to be funny, only media is making a big fuss out of it all, like they is a war coming....this men and women are just playing with themselves, they'll sort their pavala out in their bedrooms ... now everyone is all about the media circus with the #savedemocracy lol!

i watched a video where a an "elected" lawmaker was refused entry into his office.

He was asking the masked DSS men.... "is this a legislative coup?"

Think about that for a minute.



This is not about bukola saraki but an attempt by the executive arm of ��government to run over the ��legislative arm of government with force.

There is separation of powers, the legislature does not report to the executive.

It is indeed funny because the people behind it all know themselves and they know what they are aiming for..... Why should I start foaming in the mouth when I know that this is all a smokescreen?.... It was a coup gone wrong, but even the coup plotter had to have know it may go wrong and so many factors are yet to be known of the event.... Whatever happens, every of them know that they must keep our democracy going, that is the only way they can retain their powers.... So yes, I find it all funny because it's just a passing drama.

When the legislative arm is holding an entire nation to ransom and obstinately refuses to see sense in convening for the sake of averting a national crisis, all because they are afraid of losing power to the ruling party, what do you expect to happen?

Governance is not an easy thing, you people think it is as simple as "separation of power" and "constitutional right", but I assure you, if you are there, you will understand the frustration of the executive. I may not really support the use of crude force as displayed by the DSS earlier today, but don't think governance is a pedestrian task that you can easily analyse from behind your wooden desk.

Vice Chief of Defence Forces Visits Troops in Somalia

The new Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Robert Kibochi has in the past week been visiting Kenya Defence Forces troops under Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

During his visit to various Bases as well as Forward Operation Bases (FOBs), Lt Gen Kibochi congratulated the soldiers for their continued service to Kenya as well as their effort towards the support of our neighbors, Somalia, as they move towards stabilization.

The VCDF said Kenya Defence Forces will continue to improve and enhance its capabilities to ensure that the Force was always ready to fulfil its obligations, including support to AMISOM.

He reiterated that with this continued improvement, KDF and AMISOM will surmount challenges that may from time to time arise in operations to rid Somalia of terrorism and return the country on a path to peace and prosperity.

The visit is timely as it avails an opportunity to meet with KDF soldiers as they execute their mandate. It also avails opportunity to hear and experience day to day occurrences in the operation bases.

I agree that the principle of checks and balances as enshrined in the constitution, should be respected. But in the case of a national emergency, the executive is within its right to take extraordinary measures to protect our democratic institutions.... However, I do not support the ragtag use of force to bamboozle lawmakers. They could have performed better.

In Nigeria, anyone influential enough can probably point to someone and order his arrest without explanation and they'll arrest first and talk later. How does a man wake up and order an agency out on illegal unconstitutional errands. These loyalty to their fellow man rather than following the constitution is the bane of the country. Using soldiers to win election, DSS to harrass, police to bully...argh! All this is just lawlessness. I'm watching on, if the country don't change I will wash my hands off Nigeria. Giant of Africa my ass.

We are still maturing as a democracy....you shouldn't lose hope, all these sort of constitutional parallels are bound to happen.
