Those IPOB and Shiites killed by the military also had families.
I didn't hear you sympathizing or complaining about their murder by the military.
Justice is important for everyone.
God help us all as we seek a better and restructured equitable Nigeria that allows space for peace unity and progress.

Please don't even go there.... cool

So the justice his; the killing of Nigerian military troops in the North East .

You shouldn't be saying these dude.

Don't understand your question bidexiii.

I'm obviously unhappy that ordinary soldiers are dying.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of his contradictory statements.

However, I'm just tired of all this wanton killings.

I wish Nigeria peace and success in fighting insurgency on the background of equity, justice and fair play for all.

RIP to the soldiers, IPOB, Shiites...

I'm out.

^^^^^^^^^^^^yet an other guy who thinks nigeria is america, in nigeria there is no such thing as "thank you for your service" and there is also no such thing as "service". Soldiers join the force for the pay or for the power or the prestige.

And it is a mind set like yours that embeds and cements the systematic ingratitude.

The same ingratitude that continues to bedevil our armed services as well as our wider Nigerian society.

I know they have flotation equipment added etc, but were they marinized ?
Naval aircraft are specifically built from the ground up with their sub-systems protected from corrosion. For instance ,you can use a regular Apache or Blackhawk on ships, but not for continuous naval ops. like you can with a Cobra of a Seahawk. These helis are designed from the ground up with special anti corrosion coatings on sensitive engine and electronic parts for long terms use at sea. The production run for the Oryx were so small, I doubt they developed specialised marine models.( I might be completely wrong )

Atlas proposed a version of the Rooivalk that would have been "marinized" and its entirely possible that they designed all the Oryx's to this standard. They were planning to use the Oryx on the SA built frigates after all. It was the only Helicopter they had access to under sanctions.

andrewza:

Oryxes are naval. The issue is the size vs the size of the valour hanger. Not much space. They can land on the valor though. Only the BK helicopters has not landed on a navy ship and the rooivalk does not have flotation system in case of a ditching.

Serioisly if you think Nigeria is actively fighting to end this insurgency, then you need to examine your head

Unemployment is high, they know they can never run short of legs to fill the boots of fallen soldiers before its even cold.

Respect to the real men braving the odds even in the face of all this.

Python dance 3, coming up. Seriously Nigeria head no correct. angry

Nothing's changed on these streets, I see.
I'm coming home at the end of September, ebola free insh'allah. Don't know if it's been reported here but 1 of our Oryx's rotor blades bit the ground evading heavy fire from the ADF.
Our 5 Oryx remain under UN MONUSCO command and therefore don't fly in protective pairs or with Rooivalk as our doctrine demands.

Rooivalk now fly exclusively for RSABATT/FIB missions as SA is paying for their deployment. After this Oryx incident, I suspect the UN will find themselves flying exclusively on MI-17s. grin grin grin

NAF HOLDS AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION AND ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING WORKSHOP IN BAUCHI

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on 10 September 2018, commenced a 5-Day Aeromedical Evacuation and Advanced Trauma Life Support Training Workshop for 37 medical personnel drawn from NAF units across Nigeria. The training, which is holding at the 261 NAF Reference Hospital Bauchi, is part of efforts to further enhance the capacity of NAF personnel to provide effective aeromedical evacuation and advanced life support services within Operation LAFIYA DOLE as well as other Theatres of Operation in the country.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Chief of Medical Services, Air Vice Marshal Sale Shinkafi, who was represented by the Director of Public Health and Humanitarian Services NAF Headquarters, Group Captain Azubuike Chukwuka, stated that the workshop was aimed at equipping NAF personnel with the necessary skills to provide effective aeromedical evacuation services to injured persons, especially at the front lines and theatres of operations. He said it was also aimed at ensuring that NAF Aeromedical Evacuation Teams and paramedics are appropriately trained to effectively man the Accident and Emergency Units in NAF Hospitals across the country. Group Captain Chukwuka therefore urged participants to make the most of the training with a view to applying the knowledge gained to save lives, thereby boosting troops’ morale.

The training exercise is in line with one of the key drivers of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar’s vision which is aimed at creating needed capacities in every NAF professional specialty to enhance the ability of the Service to effectively carry out its constitutional roles. The workshop, which is expected to end on 14 September 2018, would expose the selected medical personnel to the complexities involved in providing real time first aid to casualties before evacuation in real battle situations. Other areas to be covered during the workshop include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Facilitators at the Workshop include American Heart Society certified consultants from the Jos University Teaching Hospital as well as resource persons from NAF Headquarters Medical Services Branch. One of the highlights of the workshop was a practical demonstration of casualty evacuation of injured troops using a NAF Bell 412 Helicopter.
