Nope. Special Forces operating in a confined space. 9mm comes in handy in such an environment.

COMING SOON!!!

DOCUMENTARY ON NIGERIAN AIR FORCE REGIMENT AND SPECIAL FORCES

All is set for the unveiling of an interesting documentary on the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Regiment and Special Forces (SF), scheduled for release later in the week, as part of events ushering in 55th NAF Day Celebrations. In the past 4 years, the NAF has significantly boosted the capacity of its Regiment Speciality and more than tripled the strength of its SF personnel to a 1,000-strong well trained, well kitted and well motivated force capable of conducting specialized operations in concert with sister Services. The NAF SF, which now has a new name - the PANTHERS - as well as distinct accoutrements and insignia, have successfully bridged the gap between Air Power projection and force protection. They are currently deployed for Internal Security operations in about 14 States across the Country. They have been working very closely with sister services adding value in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality, while also improving NAF Base Defence and force protection capability. Please whet your appetite with the trailer below. Thank you for your continued interest in the NAF.

O/T,Frumentius my dude what happened early this month when crowds attacked Ebola clinics?

Two Ebola clinics burned down in DR Congo

Four people with confirmed cases of the highly contagious virus are still missing after fleeing the scene.

I know this is outside your manor but do you have any intel? I've my own suspicions but won't speculate for now.

Nigeria: Local-made light patrol all-terrain vehicle used by the Army.

March 17, 2019, a picture was released on the Twitter account of Marko Babic, showing Nigeria armed forces with local-made light patrol vehicle, which has the design of an All-Terrain vehicle. In February 2019, South African Online Defence magazine has announced that Nigeria has launched the production of its home-made light patrol vehicle.

What makes the Gripen so good: Combat readiness

1. Designed from the start to operate from small airfeilds with limited infastructure
2. Only needs 800m to take-off and land
3. Complete refuel and re-arm in less than 10 min
4. Complete refuel and re-arm requires only 10 trained technician and 5 low-skill assistants
5. All maintenence and re-arm equipment is mobile - it can be packed up and deployed anywhere. It all fits in one single shipping container.

ACD2019

South-Africa

It's funny. This year's ACD had more people attending (over 800 from about 60 countries) than the previous one which got negative mention from miscreants here because an experimental Rooivalk Mokopa fire from a Gripen designator missed its target by about 3 metres (surprise, a fast jet can't accurately designate a missile strike for a chopper - nevermind this experiment wasn't scheduled and delegates were apprised of such).

2 Ratels misfired their Ingwes this year and there's been nothing here. Which leads me to believe the detractors are simply malcontents.

Anyhoo, dear Henry, personally I'm not convinced with the UGV in the pic. A half-way decent adversary with EW capability will easily fix the electronic signature of this thing and rain holy hell.
I'm especially worried when I read the bolded:
Rheinmetall Denel Munition's new 40 mm medium velocity airburst ammunition was a highlight, as was the Rheinmetall Canada Mission Master unmanned ground vehicle firing a salvo of 14 Thales 70 mm rockets delivering 60 kg of explosives in 1.6 seconds – the vehicle has been at Overberg for the last month for firing trials and recently received NATO and SANDF qualifications.

This atheist "prays" SANDF qualifications DO NOT lead to acquisition! The Gecko is a perfectly sufficient pack mule!

Same can be said about UAVs.

UGVs, RPAs and USVs are the future of warfare. With the likelihood of open combat between countries in a conventional war looking all the more unlikely, and unconventional threats always increasing countries would continue to invest in unmanned systems.

The technology required to hack Umanned machines only exist in nation states, not with unconventional forces.

The investment is very wise, it can only get better.

Do any of you Saffers here remember when the Czechs offered Tatra to Denel for $78m when they (Tatra) were in trouble?
And Denel got seduced by Tata from nemesis8u land and turned up their noses?

Now we're collaborating with TATRA for the T5! And Rheinmetall is even offering Tatra as a competitor to Denel's Africa Truck for the SANDF's coming Logistics Vehicle Contract!
