This is O/T but not by much. Its an issue that universally affects the home front in all armed formations in the tri services everywhere from China,Uruguay,Guatemala and ofc Algeria,RSA,Kenya and Naij with attendant morale consequences in the field-base wives;or rather their behaviour when alone.

Mid 80s a KAF officer at MAB,was told severally by friends,"dude,go home and check on things." Nothing concrete was ever mentioned,after all these were his pals telling a friend a truly ugly thing. One day he took their advice and left for home early after checking the flyability of a pair of now long retired Phantoms in the hangar-and passed into legend still remembered by those who retired as recently as a decade ago.
His wife was fu-errr,(cough!cough!) vigorously "seeing" a fellow officer,a Captain from a previous intake in their bedroom! Nobody spoke-the Captain died instantly with a hardon,which isn't surprising since he took 7 bullets through the head. The wife was informed:"byatch,you'll now get dee 7 times daily." She was subjected to 7 rounds daily! Idk if she went mad or somehow limped/crawled/rolled away at high speed,especially when you know the cucked man,a Major was a Kikuyu with smth called a ngwati,the old style circumcision that leaves a-NVMD! Just know the kitkat wasn't made to take such intense assaults from a ngwati. The case was swept under the carpet,the fam was told the randy Captain died in a training accident,the Major went scott free and life continued. This ishyt is wayyyyy more common than you may think. I know of a Recce guy with at least one kid from his fellow Commando's hot wife who told him many times how starved she was.
Young soldiers,btw,on average higher testosterone than civvies surrounded by young women,married or not;what's the likelihood of drama? That's one of the Great Secrets of Military Life! If you've lived on a base or have close friends you've seen and heard some real ishyt! When husbands are away on months long overseas ops,week long training exes or temporarily assigned far away postings the character of women is put to the test-not all of them pass.

The Nigerian army needs to have an independent airborne brigade with dedicated aircrafts on standby to perform air-assult missions, and fixed wing assets from the air force to carry out airborne assaults. I find it really strange that the army or air force haven't been able to build up the numbers of MI-17s in service.

Looking back primarily at Rhodesian operations in the 70s and 80s it is clear to see why independent air units are vital for successful military operations against non-state actors.

The Rhodesians had a really small air force.

Air assault is heavy on psychology.

While ground troops can hold, independent air assault and airborne assault troops would continue to pursue, Mount pressure on the enemy. Also backed by highly mobile infantry.

We simply let the capabilities of the 72MSF and it also seems AFSF capabilities is also dying out.

The Reva's have almost all broken down, but vehicles in the mould of the Reva should be employed by this mobile infantry units.
