Defence budget and money for procurement aren't the same thing.

You should at-least apply some common sense.

OK, let's take it back a step

What source are you using which provides the budget figures you are quoting?

"Our inquiries on the jets revealed that the aircraft cannot
fly but the issue has been hushed up in the military."

So they miraculously fixed the aircrafts that cannot(affirming) fly!

Is this what you are now saying?
because that job as aircraft technicians.we didn't buy this aircraft's to be spare parts but to compliment our already inventory of F-5's

Anyway not to digress..... You called Nigeria out, and i have given a comprehensive list of all verifiable equipment Nigeria purchased with what was left of the $5.7 billion.

I'm not saying corruption isn't a problem, but to narrow every problem Africans phase to the narrow viewpoint of corruption is absolute nonsense. That's not the problem.

We face capacity issues, hence we buy every jack from abroad. This is a much bigger problem than corruption, Brazil, Mexico, SK etc etc all built massive defence industries despite high levels of corruption. Even colombia

Money is another issue, selling commodities like Oil, Platinum, Gold, minerals et al won't make you reach especially when you have 170 million people to feed!
lets use colombia as an example ,do you know how far they have come from the days of narcos,to today when colombia soldiers are sought after by gulf countries to work as PMC's ! it require commitment and sacrifice which we lack

Exactly!

This is a more convincing argument, instead of always screaming corruption. Corruption is just a blanket which hides many many of our inefficiencies.

We lack the commitment and sacrifice to get things done, most institutions cannot be embarrassed to improve efficiency.

Anyway, we know Arabs can't fight.

A factor, not the factor. Tribal and religious allegiances played much more major roles.

We basically did the same, with our PC7s a few years ago!

Albeit it wasn't our Airforce that carried out the upgrades, but a local company!!

Sri Lanka drops plan to buy fighters from Pak after India objects

Stiff opposition from India has forced Sri Lanka to drop plans, at least for now, to buy JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft from Pakistan.
The Sunday Express has learnt that New Delhi shot off a diplomatic missive a few weeks ago to Colombo on why it should not buy the JF-17 Thunder, including a negative technical assessment of the aircraft. It was also pointed out that the country’s defence requirements did not need fighters.
While questions were raised in Sri Lanka too about the reported $400-million deal, India’s forceful opposition, conveyed through a non-paper, was one of the likely reasons that made Sri Lanka drop the plan for now.
The Pakistani media were reporting that the deal for JF-17s would be signed during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s three-day visit to Colombo which ended Wednesday.
Despite its own financial crunch, Pakistan was also said to be ready to extend a line of credit to Sri Lanka for the aircraft.
On Tuesday, Sharif and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, who is also the Defence Minister, signed agreements under eight heads in Colombo, but the sale of aircraft was not one of them

You Southie guys are willing to mislead Africa for your personal egoistic gains.
