Why?

"Why, why?" undecidedundecided ........ It's a basic gear that's why. Makes soldiers look smart and very photogenic.

-Besides bulletproof vest shouldn't come separate from the Tactical vest. They should be one single unit.

- the OPS Core FAST helmet is currently the best in the world, it stops 7.62mm at close range.

- Secondary side arm should be a compulsory asset.

- the old boots are to heavy, soldiers should all switch to the more efficient, durable and light boats.

Only the OPS Core helmets and Side arms can go to specialised units. The others would remain for the Infantry man. Also a change of service rifle, more mordernised rifles chambered in the 7.62, 5.45 should remain with specialised units.

I'm not in the delegation, besides there are no specifics in the news report i read. Asides the SU-34 or SU-24 there is no other Russian fighter the NAF would require.

Tactical vests and bulletproof should be a single unit. Not two different items.

- tactical vests are better in the bush. Seen american soldiers lumbering around in videos in A-stan? Even the Americans after Joint Accord I commented on how quickly our guys moved in the bush.

- Yet it provides limited protection against frag

- Side arms are meaningless, moving away from rifles to carbines is a more meaningfull improvement.

- Meh... there is a circular argument about boots right now. Leather ones provide better support, last longer and provide more warmth when it gets cold (like in the desert), material ones are lighter.

More meaningfull improvements would be:
- individual comms sets
- personal med aid-bags
- optics for weapons
- carbines
- better load bearing harnesses
- lighter squad MG's (South AFrica did this with the SS-77 [pics])

Tactical vests and bulletproof should be a single unit. Not two different items.

That limits versatility.

South Africa introduced the Pat84 and the BPV set-up at the same time... there is a reason they were designed to be separated.

NATO can get away with their heavy cumbersome set-ups because of their doctrine - infantry mobility is not something they place a high value on.

The job of their infantry is to roll around in MRAP/IFV until they hit contact... then dismount, pin the target with fire and bring in CAS or Arty to destroy the target.

If you watch hornets nest or Armadillo, those guys will fly straight into combat and dismount. In the doccie Battle for Marjha, the marines dismounted their helo's less than 10km from the target and they were exhausted by the time they got there.

You simply cannot operate like that all the time in Africa.

BPVs are essential for mech inf only. Light and moto rely on mobility so they need to be able to get rid of the heavy plate vests when they have to go out on 5 or 6 day foot patrols... or because in combat they may have to dismount and cover vast distances on foot

i wish we upgrade those F-5 aerial refueling and precision strike capability, there was a period pakistan taliban declared war on the pakistani government but due to pakistan air force use of precision strike with GBU-12's after different pakistan air force ISR platforms gathered intel on those terrorist hide out .pakistan taliban asked for a ceasefire. museveni SU-30MK2 cost him around $ 200 million not the claimed $740 million. that's saying the price tag for each one was around $ 123 million, even russian latest SU-35 4++ jet doesn't cost that much. that's the price range of 5th generation jets

Enrich nuclear materials.- YES, BUT NUCLEAR BOMB WHY WILL WE EVEN WANT A BOMB AT THIS TIME WHEN THE POWERS THAT BE HAVE A WATCHFUL EYE FOR COUNTRIES TRYING TO BUILD NUCK BOMB.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_energy_in_Ghana
There are currently no nuclear power plants in Ghana, although there is one nuclear research reactor in Ghana as well as plans to build a power plant.[1]
 Ghana’s quest for nuclear power for electricity generation
dates as far back as the early 1960’s
 In 2008, the Government of Ghana took a cabinet decision to
add nuclear power to the energy mix of the country
 In 2010, Ghana added nuclear power to the national energy
policy
 A nuclear power unit was then established at the Ministry of
Energy and Petroleum in 2012
 Ghana’s Nuclear Energy Programme Implementation
Organisation(Ghana’s NEPIO) was inaugurated the same
year(2012)
