Good question, the land is very very sloped, tilting towards the rear right hand side of the plot. There is need for two or more steps to level the floors. I think there is up to 1200mm level variance from the highest point to the lowest.

Also, the land at the point of this construction is much lower than the road line. I am planning a very high foundation here.

Work went on very well on this site. We are still laying blocks in this foundation but work has gotten to advanced stages. More pictures after the match.

We are making use of the old blocks made in this site some years back. But the blocks are very strong and good enough for this work.

There will still be more coaches of blocks on top of this level, I am planning to chain the foundation with a top beam later.

We have completed all the blocks for the foundation stage this evening, remaining the chaining of some parts and the casting of foundation pillars. But meanwhile we have started making more blocks, these ones will be used for the next stage, the walling stage of the project.

May i know why you decided to mould blocks in this particular project. In all your previous projects you normally buy blocks from vendors. Is their cost savings in doing this or is the man not in a hurry to complete like in other projects?

The owner is in a hurry to move into this house as early as December 2013, but due to the rural nature of the area there are no block industries in close proximity as to make buying a better choice, economically.

I have mold and used blocks on site in about 4 sites here, Owerri 2012, Anambra 2011, Ebonyi 2012.

some truckloads of filling sand arriving......

I have men already in site to do the filling, this foundation height is so high, see the way the rooms are yawning

40 trips of filling sand cannot do this one.

Rains have messed up some roads here, hindering our supply of filling sand, but we are back on track and will continue the filling as from tomorrow.

and still we are making more blocks for the next stage of the house.
