Ermm, the story is still 'writing in progress' and its more like a novel, but school life is just a short story to keep you guys busy for the main time and not have to wait for too long . I knew I won't have much time to updates and 'B. ITCH' needs attention and constant updates, so I decided to suspend posting it, but don't worry, it would be released soon enough. ermmm.. You are totally right, the updates are highly slow and am sorry about it, but I have reasonable excuses, if you have checked the thread, you'll see the excuse.

But about updating just once since the last time you checked, I and the readers were debating on a timetable that suites me and also suites them so I suspended all updates, the timetable is now certain.

Anyway, am going to try my best to somehow increase the updates, as a matter of fact, am updating today na.

NEW UPDATE IN A BIT.

Its no news that 'day ones' are usually the best days or the worst days for most people venturing into something new, as for me, my day one was unfortunately on the worse side rather than the best.

As the senior literally dragged me to his hostel, probably to beat me, I started wondering if all the seniors in this school do is bully the junior students or do they get more money deposited into their bank accounts on the bases of how many people they beat and make life horrible for?

The senior in his self was looking so shabby and tattered, irrespective of the fact that he wore just a boxer and I could hear the boxers cry out loud saying; 'somebody help me!!!'. I felt the instant urge to burst out into laughter but I controlled the urge before I add another wahala to my seemingly unending list of problems.

Anyways, unlike senior Jerry who stayed in one of the 'high rise' buildings, this senior stayed in one of the bungalows which only meant he was either in JSS2 or maybe JSS3, as I observed this fact, my lips curved into a smile because I was damn sure that he wouldn't dare lay a finger on me unless he wanted to see 'Michael's rage'... I instantly activated the stubborn part of me as we got to his corner.

'So I called 'last boy' and you had the liver to sit down in your corner shey?' He asked me rather rhetorically but I had a reply to his question.

'I'm a new student na!' I replied boldly, all my mind was saying to me was he couldn't do me nothing! After all, he is a JSS student too nah.

'So new students don't answer last boy shey? In fact I don't have you time yet, sit down on the floor there' he replied pointing at a tiny corner somewhere in his room.

I wanted to say; 'you think am as dirty as you? You want me to stain my boxers for no just reason? Am not a piggy wiggy like you oh, I can't' but that would obviously be rude so I just simply said;
'no o! My mummy said I shouldn't sit down on the bare floor, its a taboo in my village' as I said that, I wanted to laugh at myself for the stupid excuse I just gave but I didn't want him to know I was lieing so I kept a straight face.

'Do you think am joking with you?' He asked.

'No'

'Before I close my eyes and open it, better go an sit down there!' He raised his voice.

I noticed something about my environment, unlike the high rise building where as soon as I entered seniors were already asking Jerry for me, the roommates of this tiny dirty pig didn't seem to care about what was going on in their room, they all had this 'let me not put my hand in matter that doesn't concern me' look, they all looked rather scared or something like that. so I decided to make use of the advantage I had to the fullest.

'You are still standing here? In fact lie down!' They senior screamed at me and the grabbed a belt which laid on the floor.

'My mummy said I shouldn't lie down' I replied, not feeling threatened by his raised voice.

He got so mad at me that he swung the belt towards my direction with full force, as soon as it hit me, I let out an exaggerated loud scream of pain and before I could even think of what to do next my legs found the courage to walk out on him and I kept on grumbling 'I'll go and report you', I expected him to chase me to beat me more or at least scream my name but I didn't hear as much as the sound of a pin from his mouth as I walked out on him, I could guess what was going on in his mind and he was definitely scared and surprised.

As soon as I successfully got out of his hostel, I instantly ran to my hostel without look back laughing out loud, I couldn't believe he had no courage to call me back, I didn't know either it was my threat to report him or my loud scream or maybe even my crocodile tears that got to him and frankly, I don't care all I know is that the act I displayed there would give Will Smith a run for his money.

As I got to the hostel, I told Stanley about all that happened to me and the guy started laughing that his infectious laughter, as expected, I joined him in laughing.

Nothing much happened for the rest of the day, I went for dinner but couldn't eat for reasons I'm not still aware of and there after went for night prep which was short due to the fact that it was a friday and friday's night preps are usually short than the usual night preps because the weekend follows suite and we are expected to read all through the weekend.

Later on that night, I laid on my bed thinking about how my first day was, unlike most kids my age who would feel homesick and want to go home on that spot after experiencing a day like mine, I was strangely grinning with random thoughts running through my mind.

Few minutes later, I slept off.

The weather was perfect as the sun seemed to be in a good mood as it decided not to show itself and radiate too much light and heat. I and Bunmi sat by the shores of the ocean at a beach talking about ourselves and how we felt for eachother, she was like;

'Michael, I really like you'

'Bunmi, I like you too but I think we should just be friends' I replied with a sober look.

'Ah, we have been friends long enough na, don't you want to try something new?' She asked me licking her lips seductively.

'Something new? Like what?' I asked looking perplexed.

'Ermm, like this...' She licked her lips once more and the leaned forward probably to kiss me, I being a sharp guy started getting closer to her to kiss her too and just when the space between our lips was less than an inch...

'...Chad house boys get down from your bunks!!' Someone screamed after banging a box.

I woke up from my sleep with that kind of frown that would scare the devil; 'who is this one that lucifer sent to spoil my sweet dream now?' I wondered in disgust as I reluctantly jump down from my bed.

'Come and line up on a straight file in the center of the room!' The person scream once more and I alongside my roommates murmured as we dragged our feet to the center of the room to line up.

With my eyes already accustomed to the darkness with envelope the room, I spotted Stanley somewhere in the midst of my peers and I walked up to him hoping to get an explanation.

'Guy, wetin be this one again wey dem they wake us up this early?' Today no be saturday? Abi school dey on saturday too?' I asked Stanley as I got closer to him.

'Every saturday na inspection na, we go need clean up the hostel' he replied.

'Which kind clean up?' I asked just to understand him better.

'Scrubbing, moping, cutting, all those kind things sha'

'Cut wetin' I asked again with an eyebrow raised.

'Cut your head! Ode' Stanley replied sacarstically and started laughing at his own joke, I didn't quite get him so I starred at him blankly.

'Ode talk better thing jhur'

'Na grass we go cut na, hope say you sabi cut grass for house or scrub and mop oh, because you go do am today' he replied with a straight face which later turned in smile after he saw my confused facial impression.

In my mind, I was like; 'I've never done any of these things you just listed so I have no idea on how to do them, I even just recently started washing my clothes myself at home. Chai! Why my papa carry me come this kind school now?' I thought to myself as I pondered on how the hell am going to conquer this new challenge.
