keshi is inviting 24 home-based players to camp so that the the training camp will be lively with some tempo before the foreign based players arrive so they too will flow with the tempo and increase it, opening the camp with only 5 or even 10 home based players is only a waste of time, 24 players can be divided into two teams who can size up each other for effective training and monitoring for fitness, also it will afford the coaches to examine the home based players for the CHAN coming up early next year.

The Nff guys are just bunch of learners and 'learnees' who keep looking for pitfalls for keshi to fail but God pass them. Keshi is only maximizing the opportunity to achieve greater things, a very smart coach for that matter.

Nigerians please don't mind the NFF guys.

It is true that 42 players are too much but he might also be using that to spark competition in the team so that at no point would any player think he has a regular jersey which will in turn curb complacency. No matter how, there would be some 4-5 home based players that will challenge the more established players in training and by so doing, they will be forced to step up their games. That is good for the overall strength of the team.

Thank u jare, u know exactly how it is. NFF did not make that decision in good faith. They want Keshi to fail so they can hire white mediocre coach as usual. Why not deliberate the reasons why he invited so much home based players? Keshi would definitely have his reasons. No foreign coach can ever do what keshi is doing. Do u think a foreign coach will have time to discover talent from Nigerian league? Would a foreign coach even live permanently in Nigeria during the time of his contract? They are proxy coaches.

I've always defended Keshi, but seriously? 42 players against Malawi. We'll probably win with only 10 against those guys.

It wasn't one game. The SE was supposed to play a friendly against Burkina Faso in Kaduna three days after the Mlawi game. I guess Keshi is building a B team as it used to be in the late 80's an early 90's. Beside i dont think the list is too much because both games are played in Nigeria.

Well though 42 man list is quite a large list but I think d coach should be invited to explain the reason behind his list and not just to be asked to slash down the list!precise the homebased still have the african championship coming up and as such need some training with the foreign based to smoothen any rough edge
