Mark Ninchritz has been arrested and charged with defrauding a woman of more than $5,000 A48-year-old man is accused of taking advantage of an elderly woman and slowly stealing thousands of dollars from her to feed his penchant for booze and strippers. Toronto Police say the alleged fraudster was arrested and charged with four offences. |

“It is alleged that, over approximately a oneyear-period, the accused befriended an elderly woman and systemically defrauded her by using her debit and credit cards for cash advances, alcohol purchases and trips to local strip bars,” Const. Wendy Drummond Wednesday. She said it’s believed the victim, who is in her 80s, was scammed out of a total of $36,000. Mark Ninchritz, of Toronto, is charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and three counts of using a credit card obtained by crime. |

“Our seniors are targeted for many reasons, loneliness, age vulnerability, health related issues such as dementia and Alzheimer’s,” Dummond said. “Seniors must be vigilant to scams and fraudsters, asking the necessary questions. “Familymembersofseniors should also be aware and involved in their lives to assist them and protect them, said contacting police if fraud suspected,” she advised. |
