I know that insecurity can never be curbed 100% by the most formidable security outfit in the world.
Youth restiveness as a result of carelessness from the government is the major cause of insecurity in Nigeria.
The government of Jonathan is politicizing the boko haram that the northern elites are behind them just to gain cheap popularity.
I bet you that a Northern president from the same circle(cabal) shall also use militancy, kidnapping and armed robbery against the southern people when the need arises meanwhile, the major problem is left untouched.
EMPLOYMENT/EMPOWERMENT OF THE YOUTHS OF THIS NATION IS THE ANSWER! I hope he is freed unharmed.

…as IGP gives matching order on CP to arrest killers of policemen

It was another sad day for officers of Edo state Police command as two top senior officials were found dead in the early hours of Friday beside a bush near Ehor community in Uhunmwode local government area of the state.
The officers died in a gun duel with suspected kidnappers who struck along the Benin-Auchi road on Friday evening in Benin, the state capital and swooped on popular legal practitioner, Chief Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The suspected kidnappers succeeded in taking away their victim, Chief Ozekhome and his drivers in the gun duel.

The bodies of the policemen, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and police Inspector and two others were said to have been discovered by residents of the area Friday morning.
The latest killing of policemen brings to six the men of the command that lost their lives in the line of duty.
Two policemen attached to the command were three weeks ago shot dead by men who rode in a Volkswagen Passat car off bypass in Egba community.
Ozekhome was kidnapped at about 3pm and taken to an unknown location in the state.
The abduction of the constitutional lawyer and human rights activist brings to about 12 the number of victims that fell into the hands of rampaging kidnappers in the past three weeks in parts of the state.
It is feared that families of the kidnap victims may have lost huge sums running into several millions of naira to secure the release of their relations from the den of the hostage takers.
Among those so far abducted include five female primary school teachers, three kids of one of the teachers, vice chairman of Uhunmwode council, two senior health workers at Irrua Specialist Hospital in Esan central and the latest victim.
The state police command had on Wednesday paraded 44 suspected kidnappers, suspected robbers, ritualists, rapists, illegal arms manufacturers, fraudsters and illicit drug peddlers at the command headquarters.

It was gathered that the four dead officers died in an attempt to save the human Rights lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome from the fleeing suspected kidnappers.

However indications showed that the police in the state led by its Commissioner of Police are closing in on the suspected kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, yesterday directed the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Folunso Adebanjo, to fish out the suspects.

The state police boss has vowed to ensure that the fleeing suspects are brought to book.
Adebanjo told newsmen that, “operatives of the command led by DPO Ehor division responded swiftly to a distress call at about 3:30pm that unspecified number of armed men had blocked the Benin-Auchi road by Ehor axis.”
He stated that, “However the hoodlums ambushed the patrol vehicle and opened fire on them, prompting an exchange of fire.”

“At the end of the gun duel, the hoodlums escaped with bullet wounds but not without their victim who was later identified upon search on his abandoned vehicle as Chief Ozekhome (SAN) and is driver.”

He disclosed that “regrettably, the command lost four officers in the encounter. We salute their rare courage and bravery for they fought and died as heroes for the course of humanity. Their death shall not be in vain. We remain undeterred in our fight against armed banditry”, he stated.
The Force Public Relations Officers, Frank Mba, told journalists of telephone that “ the IGP has directed the CP to commence immediate vigorous manhunt for the hoodlums who must be arrested and brought to justice and the kidnapped victims rescued. We therefore once again call on the general public not to relent in their partnership with the police to fish out the criminals as common enemy to our society and report anyone found with the bullet wounds to the nearest police station”.
