Good... But I doubt the actual cost if the project will be up to 500 billion. On another note, I hope there's gonna be high tech equipments and apparatus plus highly trained personnels to treat major ailments and diseases such as cancer, kidney, hear and liver diseases etc? I don't trust those polithiefcians. |

I thought I saw 9bn in the news. Will 1bn be enough to renovate 18 hospitals and also build 2 new ones? |

Sun of god: How much did he 'nick'? The cost is for renovation of 18 General Hospitals and construction of two new ones. As a matter of fact, I don't think the amount is enough to renovate those 10 hospitals alone. It is high time we started to trust some of these politicians. Fayemi has no antecedent of graft. So you have to trust him. 1 Like |

emmysenior: Good... But I doubt the actual cost if the project will be up to 500 billion. Where did you get the figure of 500 billion from? He is spending 1 billion naira only on renovation of 18 General Hospitals and building 2 new General Hospitals. The question should be: how is he going to achieve that with mere 1 billion naira? That money is not enough. 1 Like |

Why do the media continue to serve as a tool for promoting propaganda in Nigeria. Governor A will do this... Governor B will do that... Why not wait until projects are finished before bringing it to the public. There are thousands of unfinished projects scattered across the country which these people don't even know if they can finish. Anybody who still rejoices over promises from Nigerian Politicians deserves to be locked up in a vault of Newspaper archive. 3 Likes |

payless: The figure quoted is actually for the rehabilitation of existing hospitals only. The rehabilitation of the general hospitals, which is billed to be completed within eight to 10 weeks, will cost the government N955,094,403.51. Fayemi disclosed that the two new general hospitals would be built in Ilawe and Iye Ekiti in Ekiti South West and Ilemejemeje Local Government Areas of the state, while the 320-bed Oba Adejugbe General Hospital in Ado Ekiti would be completed to provide an alternative for the residents of the state capitalm following the upgrading of the general hospital in Ado to a University Teaching Hospital. Dont forget that Ekiti is nt an oil rich state. They have to spend within the limit of their income to avoid heavy debt... 1billion, if meticulously used will go a mile in d renovation and new constructions too. Cost of building in Ekiti is not as alarming as compare to Lagos. |

Ayekotoo: Fayemi increased the state IGR to 1billion naira within 2 years where as a state like Anambra still struggling to get to aforementioned figure. Ekiti is a rural state compare to Anambra. One city in Anambra like Onitsha or Nnewi has economy X3 of the entire Ekiti state. Equally Onitsha alone commands higher IGR than entire ekiti state. In a nutshell the only SE state that can be compared to Ekiti is most likely Imo or Ebonyi states in terms of IGR. Fact! 3 Likes |

Ayekotoo: Fayemi increased the state IGR to 1billion naira within 2 years where as a state like Anambra still struggling to get to aforementioned figure. You have to give it to the band of scammers in ACN now APC- they sure know how to EXCELlently raise IGR from the pockets, handbags, wallets and bags of the masses they are supposed to serve while providing very little in terms of BASIC services in return. 4 Likes |
