It is you that needs to sharpen your understanding.

Lagos annual IGR ---- N240 billion (from tax partly due to population) Lagos Federal allocation---- N120 billion

Akwa ibom annual IGR------- N20 billion Akwa ibom Federal allocation---- over N350 billion.

The real deal is in the IGR, as it takes hard work to get that, Federal allocation is like receiving pocket money from your father.

For Obvious reasons, population pressure and many others, Lagos will definitely spend a greater fraction of its money on recurrent expenditure compared to Akwa ibom state, what this means is that Lagos will have less money to spend on capital expenditure projects compared Akwa ibom.

Akwa ibom has a lot of money to spend on capital projects than Lagos state ------FACT 1

The real issue is that since Akwa ibom has more money to spend on capital projects than Lagos States( at least over 50% more than that of Lagos state), where are the projects to justify such huge income.

How hard is this to understand really? We shouldn't even be explaining this is elementary school kids..

Basic common sense, logic and arithmetic is very strange and foreign to a lot of people for obvious reasons.

Agbameta,

Ive been following this thread and need to say that youve made Lagos proud. Kudos to all contributors on this thread.

How many of you are aware that Lagos State has a motto? Lagos is popularly called the "Show Me State".

It has lived up to its motto as we can see on this thread. Forget Akwa Ibom, I want all the states in the SS/SE combined to challenge Lagos in development and resourcefulness.

Any taker? Please dont drop your hat into the challenge if you have nothnig to show for backup. No promises and awarded contracts - strictly scoring the states based on

works in stages of completion;
works completed;
works commissioned

in the current administration and or both currentand immediate past administration.

You talked about population, as a person, is there anything you enjoy from Lagos State govt? I challenge you to mention just one thing that the masses in Lagos are enjoying from LASG. We pay for everything through our nose. They jacked up LASU school fees to 260,000 naira. How many people around your neighbourhood will be able to afford that amount?

Now, let us go to Akwa Ibom

1) Primary and Secondary education is free

2) Tuition fees of the state owned University is about 35,000

3) Free medical treatment for infants, the aged and pregnant women

4) Their water taps run unlike Lagos where we patronise MaiRuwa and pure water

5) Taxation is very low

My friend, you can as well relocate to Akwa ibom

6) Regular foreign scholarships and bursaries

7) Free sanitation. Akpabio does not surcharge indigenes to pay for keeping his state clean

I can go on and on. . .

Tribalism is a very powerful drug, with tribalism, you agree with the facts as stated deep inside, but it's hard to openly agree and show it so, it really doesn't matter how much valid and credible facts you confront them with, tribalism remains a block and default position.

I know them and I see them coming with what's driving their insane and absurd arguments..

Dude, you are such a fraudulent fellow.

The main building with semi-circular glass finishing is NAL Towers in VI.This thread is to compare Fashola's achievements to Akpabio's and not compare Lagos ( A former Federal Capital and commercial capital of Nigeria) to Uyo (A rural town, just became a state capital in 1987) which is what you are trying to do. Since Akpabio and Fashola got into office the same day on May 29th, 2007, any project commissioned before 2007 pre-dates their time as Governor and therefore has nothing to do with them.

The main building in the background is NAL towers, built by defunct NAL Merchant bank in the early 1990s. It was built when Fashola was still in the university and has nothing to do with him. Gen. Buba Marwa should take credit for those building using your logic. At least he was the Governor of Lagos when they were constructed!

Please show us Fashola's achievements since May 29th, 2007 and not showing us Federal highways and bridges built in Lagos or buildings built by banks and Multinational companies as their corporate headquarters in Nigeria's capital since 1980.

SHOW US FASHOLA'S ACHIEVEMENTS FROM 2007 WITH THE TAXES HE HAS BEEN COLLECTING!

But, there should be a limit to such shiity talks in the name of tribalism, they shout he is taxing and making over 240 billion annually, if he softpedals and starts making 100billion annually, will he print money in state house to cover the shortfall to execute projects ?.

Federal allocation, which i call pocket money from Federal government. Akwa ibom (350 billion) and Lagos state(120billion) Akwa ibom collects over 200 billion naira more than Lagos annually.

There is no basis for comparison, Lagos wins this hands down. You are insulting the intelligence of Nigerians anytime Lagos and Akwa-ibom are use in the same sentence.
Fashola have set the standard of governance. Any Governor that perform below this is a total failure and if the President perform at par or below this, he is completely a failure.
Lagos always remind me the importance of a great leader that is commited. Anytime I'm sitting beside a driver in a public transport, in a stern voice they always beg me to put on my seat belt, that they don't want LASTMA wahala. Imagine, danfo drivers canbe tame . It reminds me that our biggest problem in this country is lack of great leaders who are willing to enforce the rules and ready to do the right thing.

This is where Fashola edges all leaders in Nigeria. The law, rules and principles. He has made Lagos to work despite being the most populous state in Nigeria. imagine, commercial motorists obeying basic traffic law and rules.
it shows our major problem in Nigeria is attitude which can be corrected with implementation of rules and regulations.

Fashola is fighting lawlessness not poor. please don't compare Fashola with Akpabio but Fashola can be compared with presidents of some nations.

If what u posted is true, then akpabio and his supporters are pathetic fools.

A small state like akwa ibom receiving more allocation that a much denser states like Lagos with one of the largest population in the country.

How can u compare fashola with akpabio.

They even spend the same number of years in government
