I just bought a tokunbo golf 3 auto bt gear 1 of it doesnt pick fast ,I wl be tapping it slowly bf it moves to 2,my mechanic said its normal for golf 3. whenever I tapped it hard it wl make a loud noise bt wl nt change to gear 2. Pls I wnt to know if its a fault or just peculiar wt golf 3auto. |

Its a challenge being faced with VW cars,bt I suggest you get agood auto mechanic to change the gear oil and gear filter. Pls use a good gear transmission fluid |

That's where you go wrong, and end up with dead cars. All automatic transmission use the same oil? Like seriously? Cheaping out will end up very expensive. Get the CORRECT oil for your VW auto tranny, not any old generic stuff. And consult your Owner's Manual for the correct specification. |

Dont compromise for d best. My bro's EOD consumed more fuel before. Not until he changed d gear oil, it consumes like half now. Gear efficiency is very important, there more to d performance of d car dan dat of ur observation alone. Consult a specilist mow. |

Siena:I hv flushed the old oil and replaced it wt a new dexron 3d seahorse bt d problem still persisted. I hv even taking it for a scan and the guy said I shld buy a new gearbox. I dnt hv problem wt the other gears coz they all select well. Pls are there anytin I cn do since am having the problem wt only d first gear all does it require total replacement? |

i had d same problm with ma 2000 accord... i did everythng didnt get better.. untill i changed d gear box it has bin perfect 4 more dan a yr now... i dnt know much abut vw... but i have seen a guy who changed his auto vento to a manual gear wen his vento auto was giving him helll....... i tink ur gear boxes are cheap... u can change it!!!!
