its not just about money. Its loneliness aspect as well, its not easy being on your own without a man o. All them miss 'independents' dey suffer small small. A woman wants to hear how beautiful she is or how lovely her cooking is these things make them happy. lol

Clearly different from this case. Infact the opposite, the women need the men for financial support, in other words they want to eat the men's bread and wear the men's apparel

Amen!! The chicken is finally coming home to roost. This same problem is in the southern part of Nigeria, in some countries in Africa, some European nations, and all over The STATES. Men are beginning to realize that WOMEN take advantage of men just for their selfish needs; they do this perfectly well while playing the " husband and children" card.
I am married to one.

preshuzpearl: 5,000 divorcees?? shocked shocked shocked

I understand it is very easy to divorce in that part of the country.....you simply say "I divorce you" three times to be sure you mean what you are saying and the deal is done.
No alimony.
No child support.
Nothing!
Zero!!
Nada!!!

I pity you and those who liked your post......you all must have missed where the story said they are WIDOWS and need NEW husbands to support them for feeding etc.
Is it too much to slow down and read the OP before commenting appropriately

Of cos husbands will be scarce cos they have all submitted themselves for suicide bombing missions. Abi widows, when ur husbands were going to kill ppl, were u xpecting them to come back to ur loving arms?

Go and read the holey book, there has to be an answer for u. There could be 70 hunky male virgins waiting for u at the other side. Stop wasting time here were there is scarcity.

bukatyne: This development is funny and not funny.

Most ladies looking for money bags do so because they want the finer things of life. However, when a woman starts husband hunting for basic things like food, clothing, shelter etc. It shows there are many things wrong. It is even terrible that they also need assistance to procure what they will take to the martial homes if they find a willing husband.

It's tempting to say they have low self esteem et al but how else do they know how to meet their legitimate needs? How many role models do they have? who in their environment is living life differently? Who is willing to train them? How do they think of their future when they are probably married off to much older men and thrown away aka divorced when they are tired? I know a 40+ man who said a girl of 23 was too old for him. This was after 2 yes marriage to her. He is educated and schooled abroad so we wouldn't say he is a local champion.

If they were in their hundreds, people might dismiss it as their fault but when they run to thousands in a state with more than 70% divorced, then something must be done.

Getting married is not even a solution to their problem because with the divorce system in the north, these women will soon be divorced again.

I do not know if their problem stems from their religion or culture. I believe that there are Islamic bodies in the south that can listen to these women cry for survival. Let them go tp the north and educate them. I assume there will also be other NGOs that can assist in one way or the other.

Let us not leave these women to their fate.
. Why should Islamic bodies in the south be the one to educate them. Why should NGOs be the ones to spearhead this. They have a Governor. Those that went to help in schools and hospitals are killed. Corps members are killed. Their elite fling it in our faces that the Muslim woman is very happy with her lot and doesn't need any help. Why should others drink Panadol for another person. They ain't seen nothing yet. Let the north continue on its self annihilation course

how would they get married when all the youth that would have been helpful to them economically and domesticlly are engaged in suicide bombing and heartless killings good for them
Re: Zamfara Women Protest Over Husband Scarcity by Arysexy(m): 7:37am On Sep 27, 2013
Blame islam for the high rate of divorce, a situation wia mere saying ' I divorce u, I divorce u, I divorce u' annuls a marriage is sickening. If a man gets tired of his wife, he pronounces d verdict and its over, he goes ahead to marry another.
