HEALTH & SAFETY CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT COURSE

INTRODUCTION

This Health & Safety induction provides a detailed grounding for those at work, focusing not only on the
basic principles of workstation safety (DSE), manual handling, fire safety, but also the very real issues of
accidents, driving at work, working at height, drugs, alcohol & substance misuse, asbestos, slips, trips and
falls and electrical awareness, etc.

This training gives real and useful understanding of how to carry out a visual inspection of work equipment
prior to use, an understanding of the effects of hazardous substances, and brings to the fore the issues and
impacts of work / life balance.

This one-day training programme is one of the three Modules for the Course.

IIRSM Members and all Individuals who have health and Safety responsibilities as part of their role in the
workplace and/or those who are interested in having an internationally recognized qualification to
demonstrate competence in health and safety and want to be members of IIRSM
