Since it was reported that Late Agagu's casket was retrieved with his body intact, yet 13 persons died in that plane crash, will it therefore not be BETTER TO TRAVEL IN A CASKET AND LAND SAFELY, THAN TRAVEL IN A PLANE AND LAND IN A CASKET?...

Another plane crash was averted this morning in Sokoko when a Saudi bound Kabo Air plane carrying 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport when its tyres exploded immediately after take off.

The Boeing 747 jumbo jet, left Kano on Friday en route Saudi Arabia but had to divert to Sokoto when the incident happened.

DailyPost learnt that all the passengers aboard the airline had been successfully evacuated from the plane and lodged in a hotel in the state. This is coming barely 72 hours after an Embraer aircraft belonging to Associated Airlines with registration number, 5N-BIT crashed in Lagos shortly after take-off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

The 30-seater aircraft had 20 passengers on board including seven crew members on board and the remains of former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu crashed about 9:30am, killing 13.

That is a big lie, hw can an aircraft going to Saudi divert to sokoto? Saudi is located east of Kano, Sokoto is located west of Kano. so how does that happen?

Family members shud start insisting dat loved take oda means of transport or wish dem "eternal" good bye shud dey insist on flying local.
Secondly, boarding local flight shud now be considered as an act of willfull suicide in Nigeria.dat will save us all d pity and tears when crash happens. It has gotten to dat stage imo.

My brother, it will serve you best to STOP acting that you know it all because it wouldn't help your cause. American Airlines has more than 5,000+ flights daily, the U.S. has more 85,000+ flights daily, so in your perfect wisdom, FAA inspectors inspects each flight? Who's the bigger fooll? My advice, quit saying stuff you know nothing about. Every airline has a maintenance program, from time to time, FAA will ground certain airplanes, and inspect them before putting them back to service but to claim that they inspect aircraft before each flight shows how smart you really are.

Whether I live in Nigeria or not is irrelevant, one thing about you is that you love to argue. Runway inspectors inspecting runways before takeoff, are you really this smart? Where will these inspectors be located at? On the side of the runway? Don't you know every minute wasted is translates to lost $$$? If one flight doesn't depart on time, it will miss its connecting flight?

JFK for instance clears about 10 flights (arrival and departure) every 5mins or less, this is what you claim they drive around to inspect the runway before every flight? cheesy cheesy cheesy Do you know aircraft leave streaks of small cloud/powerful wave energy upon landing and departure, that ATC doesn't clear a smaller aircraft for takeoff right after a larger one has left, then it's a truck that's besides the runway waiting to inspect the runway before every takeoff, more so, it highly dangerous to seat by the runway waiting to inspect runways and violates ALL FAA rules...indeed you're a lil kid. Go and rest.

Bros, GO AND READ the accident report again, perhaps, Nat Geo is good in annoying air accidents. There is a good reason why that case hasn't been resolved. However, if you want detailed incident of what happened, I'll be more than glad to share with you not this generic explanation.

Again, ask any pilot in the house, it is the responsibility of the pilots to perform flight checks/walk around before departure which includes checking the tires for scratches, dents, marks, and importantly has enough pressure, testing the flight controls (ailerons, flaps, etc) and making sure it's moving properly, etc. When pilots see issues, they call the mechanic on ground to inspect the problem.

Save your argument because I know you love to argue. grin grin

I am not a professional pilot but I do have my license to fly, I can fly a Cessna 172 or any prop aircraft and take it for a spin. As a proof, ask CFCFAN, his brother and I went to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University back in 2005/06. I do have my license but I going back to get my ratings and every other thing else is a daunting task + very expensive. Yes I'm very much familiar with airplanes, I have friends who are pilots even three of them work for Arik Air, two based out of NY.

Yes, I have an actual FSX PC + Accelerator Add on Simulator in my house, with the components attached, weird right? I fly FSX very often on the PC and though I tried it a few times on GameSpy, and when I tried VATSIM, it was too much wahala for me. I've had the opportunity to fly a REAL CRJ Simulator when I was in FL, I'm an airplane fan because I just love it. I'm very familiar with the protocols of a flight, this is why I'm excited about airplanes and when I see people arguing, I try to correct them, and if I can't, I ignore them.

Now, I haven't said that there aren't issues with the Aviation sector, one of my comments stated what's wrong with NCAA? I'm just surprised at how people claim to know much when they know nothing. As a pilot, you go to two types of schools: ground school and flight school. In both schools, you learn everything required, in flight school in particular, before you begin flight prep, you're taught on how to walk around your airplane and inspect it. You inspect your flight controls, engines/prop, tires, perform a 360check before departure. So for him to ignorantly state that it's not the pilot responsibility is just ignorant. Ask any airline pilot, it's STANDARD PROCEDURE, just like performing your, taxi, take-off, after take-off, cruise, emergency, approach, landing checklist.

No worries bros, I got your money and no I did not announce myself, I'm just tryna correct his views: Pilots inspect their airplanes before departure, they do not perform maintenance and neither do they perform FULL INSPECTION, just a regular flight check, usually things that can be caught before take off. Then the funny part is the inspection of runways after every flight? Hmm, how ignorant can one be? I tried explaining to him, you can't inspect after every flight, inspection is done random, because it's time consuming, luxury time airliners do not have. Like the link he posted, I was right after all, then talk about them staying by the runway, who says that? The amount of thrust a 737 produces on take-off is enough to blow any truck standing to the side of the runway before inspection. Again, I was vindicated by the response. They DON'T stay by the runway, they have to hold on the holding threshold, and must do it quickly.

Please I want the aviation experts in the house to throw more light on the possibility of an aircraft tyre to burst while airborne. The report did not say the tyre bursted during take off while its still on ground.
It is assumed that the Tyre bursted even while it is still climbing and while entire tyres are yet to be retracted. If there was a need to make an emergency landing, why not return to the same KANO airport rather than going all the way to Sokoto for landing. Was there a stop over plan in Sokoto prior to this incident? If the plane could still land why not proceed on the flight since the flight can still land anyway other tyres . The whole story is not too clear.
