ochejoseph: WHEN POLITICS WAS ABOUT WHAT AN INDIVIDUAL COULD OFFER, NO ETHNIC OR RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS
.

You must be very young. You were possibly not born yet in the second republic and perhaps very young in third republic.

Ethnic and religious bigotry in politics has always been there. Worse since 1970s. In fact since Biafra war.

What united them was corruption, quest for power and born-to-rule mantra. If any of them had anything to offer we won't be where we're now. You don't have to live till 100 years to make a difference.

Granted Abiola was a superbly intelligent guy with uncommon business acumen BUT his ITT corruption history, buying delegates' vote in presidential primary and coup sponsorship cast great doubt over him.

op, u are deluded if you think 'ethnic or religious sentiments' politics is a recent thing. that kind of politics started in the 60s. read our history abeg.

I wish Nigerians understand that your ethnic group or religion does not matter when it comes to moving the country forward. This nonsense called ethnicity and religion when it comes to leadership MUST stop. Let's vote for those who really deserve it and have what it takes to move the country forward. Nigeria is bigger than anyone's selfish ambition

a picture of this nature can also be taken in this dispensation. you can't say they weren't tribal politicians just from this pix. the truth is that right from 1958, Nigerian politicians have always sold their popularity along tribal lines

Indeed he was.....one of the greatest philanthropist that ever walked on the surface of the earth.
He (Abiola) was just like any other politician, who stole funds to enrich himself.
Even your revered Fela said so.
Wake up and face the truth.
Re: Picture Of Abiola, Tukur And Yaradua Back In The Days by obayaya(m): 9:35am On Oct 07, 2013
the problem with today's Nigeria is that we've swallowed all the emotional fallacious stories our father told us without investigating. and we live in suspicion of the neighbouring ethnic group. and we are in the danger of transmitting those fallacious suspicions to our children.

like Martin Luther King said, "I have a dream that my four little children will be judged not by the color of their skin (not by their tribe in the case of Nigeria ) but by the content of their characters"
